In the heart of trendy Cleveland Heights, safe neighborhood with artisanal bakery, spa and bistro across the street.
Spacious private second floor- full bath facing beautiful garden area.
1 block from Shaker Lakes - biking/walking/running trails.
My space is inviting, warm, comfortable and quiet filled with my much loved antiques. The 2 room suite, bedroom, sitting room with TV and full bath takes up the second floor of my home. Privacy for my guest is essential!
Guests will have access to the suite, private bath, kitchen, laundry and living room to enjoy the fire. Back yard and front porch of course for relaxing or eating when weather permits! Parking place next to garage. Gas grill available for your use. Garden bounty (if it is a good season) will be shared.
Interaction with Guests
I wish to be helpful and accommodating to my guest and to provide them private, comfortable accommodations. I am friendly and outgoing but respectful of my guest's need to have space.
I love that I am right across the street from a quaint small historic shopping area which houses the most sought after bakery in the Heights, a nice restaurant, salon/spa, and shops featuring antiques, woman's clothing, needlepoint, children's clothing and a general gift shop! There is also a yoga studio in the back of the shops! I one block from the Shaker Lakes if you wish to take a leisurely walk or run. The Cleveland area is very bike friendly! The habitat around the Shaker Lakes is also known for being on fall and spring migration routes for many birds.
Off street parking is available at my home. There is a rapid transit to downtown 1 mile from my home. My home can be reached from the airport via cab or arrangements with me on a limited basis for an extra fee.
Other Things to Note
T'ai chi classes are held in my basement 3 times a week (I am not the teacher!) You would be welcome to try class for a nominal fee. I do have 2 dogs and my African Gray parrot, George, may say "Hello" when you enter the house! Don't be surprised!! A shelf is maintained for you in the refrigerator if you wish for keeping your food. My washer and drier are available for your use. Line drying is also an option.
Maximum of 2 adults. I love children but my dogs have not been around them and I always err on the side of protecting children. No smoking is allowed, nor additional pets. I expect my guests to let me know if I can be of help in any way. My rule for myself is to make your stay as comfortable as possible!
Paula was a gracious and attentive host, always available when needed. She loaned me gloves to scrape the ice off of my car, helped with my research project (I was there for a research trip) and even offered to pick up things for me at the drug store. I had a fabulous time. Her house is gorgeous and the guest quarters are very private, clean, and beautifully decorated. Wonderful experience! HIGHLY recommend.
Excellent! Worth all the hype. Clean, comfortable, easy, easy, easy. I have allergies and this place did not aggravate them at all. We'll be back!
Paula was a wonderful host. She made me feel very much at home in her home and was happily available for any questions. Her warmth and humor were a very welcome bonus! The suite was perfect for my needs--a comfortable office-like room and desk for an intensive week of work, a deliciously comfortable bed in a lovely bedroom, a beautiful bathroom complete with soaking tub, and a cozy kitchen to cook in. Though it was an extremely cold week of winter weather while I was there, the suite was always warm, and Paula was very solicitous in inquiring about my comfort. Thank you, Paula!
Another great time at Chez Paula's. Super place to visit C from; Paula was wonderful with my teen-age daughter.
Paula is THE most welcoming host. This is my third time staying with her as I go to Cleveland monthly. She is nothing but accommodating and just a real gem to be around! The place is always clean and comfortable as well. The only downfall about Paula's is that she is just so loved that I can't book her place every month or I would. If you see that she has availability, don't hesitate, just BOOK!
Paula made me feel welcome just by being her cheerful, helpful self. She made me coffee most mornings and we would chat before she went to work. She had lots of good suggestions about where to eat and shop, different types of entertainment and places to go and things to see. She was very helpful with directions.
While in the house, she inquired about my personal comfort regularly, such as" was I warm enough?"," did I need any supplies?", etc. She even bought me new teflon pans. Beyond my physical comfort, she regularly enquired about my personal well being to make sure I was having a good time. When other people were in the house, she would always introduce me to them. I especially enjoyed interacting with her two adorable dogs; Duffy and Hank. She always kept me informed of her whereabouts when she was not home so I could easily contact her. Her assistance and friendly attitude helped make my visit very pleasant.
Paula did a great job making me feel welcome in her home. I was as sick as a dog when I came to visit, but thankfully for me, Paula was very kind and hospitable. Her professional training as a nurse also was an unexpected benefit. Great location which aided in my rental search as I relocate to the Cleveland area. I would definitely stay again!
Favorite things I enjoy are weaving, traveling, doing organic and native Ohio gardening, cooking, Tai Chi and reading. I like animals and have 2 dogs and an African Grey parrot named George (she's a girl- I know, hard to tell!). I want to be a bird-watcher - well I AM a bird watcher, but not a good bird identifier! As School Nurse in a local High School I have the great good fortune to have my winter with teenagers and summers off which presents a whole myriad of other opportunities. Bottom line is I love spending time with interesting people and good friends (they are not mutually exclusive!).
