In the heart of trendy Cleveland Heights, safe neighborhood with artisanal bakery, spa and bistro across the street.
Spacious private second floor- full bath facing beautiful garden area.
1 block from Shaker Lakes - biking/walking/running trails.
My space is inviting, warm, comfortable and quiet filled with my much loved antiques. The 2 room suite, bedroom, sitting room with TV and full bath takes up the second floor of my home. Privacy for my guest is essential!
Guests will have access to the suite, private bath, kitchen, laundry and living room to enjoy the fire. Back yard and front porch of course for relaxing or eating when weather permits! Parking place next to garage. Gas grill available for your use. Garden bounty (if it is a good season) will be shared.
Interaction with Guests
I wish to be helpful and accommodating to my guest and to provide them private, comfortable accommodations. I am friendly and outgoing but respectful of my guest's need to have space.
I love that I am right across the street from a quaint small historic shopping area which houses the most sought after bakery in the Heights, a nice restaurant, salon/spa, and shops featuring antiques, woman's clothing, needlepoint, children's clothing and a general gift shop! There is also a yoga studio in the back of the shops! I one block from the Shaker Lakes if you wish to take a leisurely walk or run. The Cleveland area is very bike friendly! The habitat around the Shaker Lakes is also known for being on fall and spring migration routes for many birds.
Off street parking is available at my home. There is a rapid transit to downtown 1 mile from my home. My home can be reached from the airport via cab or arrangements with me on a limited basis for an extra fee.
Other Things to Note
T'ai chi classes are held in my basement 3 times a week (I am not the teacher!) You would be welcome to try class for a nominal fee. I do have 2 dogs and my African Gray parrot, George, may say "Hello" when you enter the house! Don't be surprised!! A shelf is maintained for you in the refrigerator if you wish for keeping your food. My washer and dryer are available for your use. Line drying is also an option.
Maximum of 2 adults. I love children but my dogs have not been around them and I always err on the side of protecting children. No smoking is allowed, nor additional pets. I expect my guests to let me know if I can be of help in any way. My rule for myself is to make your stay as comfortable as possible!
Paula was very welcoming. The space was very nice, charming, and had a homey feel to it. I really enjoyed staying there. The neighborhood was perfect and had so many close conveniences. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway!!
My 15 year old daughter and I had a very enjoyable stay over our Spring Break.
Paula was very welcoming and friendly as the host. She went beyond what I expected in preparation especially when I booked a visit on the same day as my stay. Her house is very charming and comfortable as listed. The upstairs bedroom, sitting room and bathroom are all very private. The neighborhood is quiet even though on a semi-busy street. I only took advantage of the bakery across the street which was very good. I would definitely consider staying there again especially if I bring my wife so she can enjoy the antique furniture and weaving works throughout the house.
Another fantastic stay. Paula and her folks were awesome and flexible with a changing schedule.
Now a 4th time stay with Paula. Always inviting and welcoming, and she accommodates every need. Such a sweet person and love our chats :) .. The house and room are perfect for long term stays or weekend trips.
My mom was welcomed to a warm inviting environment, having a very lovely comfortable room with great antiques in a nice and walkable neighborhood.Paula, was truly wonderful, kind, and helpful in everyway when needing to assist, inform me, or to get added assistance for my mother when she needed it. I could not ask for my mom to be in better hands, especially when having to go to the Cleveland clinic by herself, not knowing anyone in town. I would highly recommend the place, and the host!
Paula was a gracious and attentive host, always available when needed. She loaned me gloves to scrape the ice off of my car, helped with my research project (I was there for a research trip) and even offered to pick up things for me at the drug store. I had a fabulous time. Her house is gorgeous and the guest quarters are very private, clean, and beautifully decorated. Wonderful experience! HIGHLY recommend.
Favorite things I enjoy are weaving, traveling, doing organic and native Ohio gardening, cooking, Tai Chi and reading. I like animals and have 2 dogs and an African Grey parrot named George (she's a girl- I know, hard to tell!). I want to be a bird-watcher - well I AM a bird watcher, but not a good bird identifier! As School Nurse in a local High School I have the great good fortune to have my winter with teenagers and summers off which presents a whole myriad of other opportunities. Bottom line is I love spending time with interesting people and good friends (they are not mutually exclusive!).
