The Space

A Sicilian holiday, which combining charm and relax in nature, is waiting for you!
Enjoy nice weather, mild and spring climate even in winter.
Villa Le Tortore is a typical Manor Farm House of the early 20th century, recently renovated with taste, combining tradition and functionality: original antique pieces and wooden windows frames were maintained as well as the pitch pavements combined with a heating floor system serving all rooms, which are really comfortable, bright and airy thanks also to their vaulting roof.

The villa presents three bedrooms with traditional forged-iron beds: one of those is the master bedroom, en suite, another one is a nice double bedroom with two twin beds and decorated with taste, while the least one is a single bedroom, with a poster bed embellished with Moroccan wild silk hand-spun bedspread.
The two bathrooms are both full with shower, in Italian style.

Many other facilities are provided in the kitchen, so cute due to the original tiles, to the clay-oven and the ceramic basins! It's very well furnished and equipped also (email hidden) nécessaire of dressings and spices.
The dining room is so bright and fresh, facing south-west; as it's directly open on the main terrace, as well the living room. This one offers a well stocked library and other materials for recreation, such as satellite TV, radio and games for all ages. Moreover thanks to the comfortable sofa bed can be set in the study-bedroom, if necessary.

A wonderful panoramic views of the sea towards the coastline, through carob and olive trees, from the main terrace furnished for outdoor living and surrounded by the rural nature of Ragusa: the amber sunsets and fresh air of evening melt into so nice with the bucolic atmosphere of the unspoiled farm property (33 acres of private land) between cats, grazing cows and some donkey!

All facilities:
- satellite TV and radio, books and games for all ages,
- gas oven with stoves (4 burners), fridge+freezer;
- kitchen well equipped also with other small household appliances;
- washing machine, soaps and hair drier;
- iron and iron-table;
- beach equipments as parasol, folding chairs and toys;
- heating and fans in all the main rooms;
- wide parking and garden with a BBQ to do pic-nics with all your family.

The villa is an holiday house in active and productive farm.
Thus of course there are also domestic animals: cows and Modican calves, Ragusan mules, a few chickens, many cats and two nice dogs ...
We love pets, and also recognising that each of them has a personal character, we believe that introducing them in an environment alien to them with different species may not be appropriate, hurting animals to each other, so it is not allowed to bring their pets from company.

In this regard, remember that the environment is so full of allergens, and is therefore strongly not recommended to those predisposed.

Please, also do not forget other beast reasons to come:
- fantastic food and wine background!
- not far from the seaside centres and nightlife, remaining far enough to rest peacefully;
- near to Ragusa Ibla: This jewel of town is like as a crèche of the baroque golden age;
- excellent geographical position, it is easily accessible from, Catania, Syracuse and Agrigento, and close to other urban centres designated UNESCO World Heritage: beautiful baroque town centres where enjoy a walk tasting delicious ice creams;
- also interesting for children who can explore several ancient Greek and Roman excavations on coastline, or fantasying in the labyrinth of the Castle of Donnafugata.

Due to poor public transports, own/rental vehicle is strongly recommended.

  • We loved this place, the people, the atmosphere!
    Silvana was so welcoming and giving great tips by email. From our 1st contact I was charmed. Then arriving to the villa we had both her Sister Amalia and her mom to welcome us. They were lovely, took an hour to answer all our questions, offering help and guidance. We received fruits, water, wine and even fine local pastries to enjoy the start of our holidays! During our stay Amalia did everything she could for our confort. She even came cooking for us delicious local Sicilian food. Everything was really perfect and we couldn't imagine better place to spend our 2 weeks of holidays. Sea is very close. Sea side is amazing. The cities around too for tourism (Ragusa, Noto, Modica and Syracusa). The house is really 5 stars. We cannot wait to come back soon we hope! Thank you again to Silvana and Amalia.

  • We were very well hosted. Got lots of information before getting there. Many activities offered.
    Great location between exploitation and relaxation.
    The only this is about pricing for dinner that might be not the same as advertised.
    Really recommend to and traveler from Honeymooner to family with kids. Thank you Silvana and Amalia!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our six night stay in the villa with a sea view. This is a beautiful old renovated farmhouse. We were a group of five and the four bedrooms provided the perfect space. The kitchen was amply equipped with all we needed for morning coffee and light meals. Our favourite space was the large stone terrace overlooking the farm and the distant sea.
    Communication with both Sylvana and Amalia was outstanding from the first contact. We were welcomed on our arrival by Amalia. She kindly brought cannoli and sparkling water after our long journey. She spent over an hour showing us the space and giving us information about the region. They provided us with a long list of ideas for activities, sights and restaurants. They responded to all requests and inquiries promptly.
    We appreciated the fresh produce, the eggs from the farm coop and fresh warm milk from the dairy cows.
    We would highly recommend this choice to anyone seeking an authentic experience in rural Sicily.

  • The accommodations were charming and met our needs perfectly. The bed and bedding were very comfortable with an extra blanket if needed. The house was stocked with plenty of paper goods. I especially enjoyed sitting out on the porch with a glass of wine, watching the sun come up or go down. We were given suggestions of restaurants and places of interest near by which was most helpful. I would definiely recommend this to friends.

  • Simply amazing. The house was exactly as described, a nice mix of old with new renovations. The house is surprisingly cool even when it's hot out. Great breezes and cross-ventilation. But better than the house is Silvana. It's like having a concierge, she really made our trip special. Her vast knowledge of the area and of things to do helped - but even more so she scheduled and coordinated a bunch of activities such as cooking and pottery class, wine tastings, and food tours. Amalia, her sister, is her point person - she really took her time to explain the area and cooked a delicious Sicilian meal when we arrived (we had that scheduled too). I was even able to get an ice cream birthday cake out to the farm. Komar the farmer was nice too - we came with 2 kids ages 10 and 12 and they got to milk cows and feed chickens. The only thing I would say is there are mosquitoes at night, so bring spray and wipes. It got better once we closed all windows at sunset.

    Molto grazie!! Great place to stay.

  • Awesome place, charming indeed! Nice villa, quiet, spacious, nice furniture and an amazing terrace. The beach is just a 15 minutes drive away, and the place is a very good starting point to visit Ragusa, Noto and Módica as well as Syracusa... We enjoyed staying very much, everything was perfect, including a very warm welcome!

  • staying in this house is like a dream - the balcony with the view over open farmland and to the ocean is amazing. the breeze wafts gently through the doors and windows all day - and evenings are peaceful and the sky is full of stars. the house is on a working farm, so there are some cows and donkeys in the fields - the faint sound of cowbells is part of the charm here. the the air bnb photos of the house are great, but they don't compare to being there. the house is spacious and very cozy and comfortable - each room is simply but specially decorated. the kitchen has everything a kitchen should have - modern appliances as well as a wonderful wood burning oven (i highly recommend arranging for hassan, the gardener, and his wife to come and prepare traditional sicilan foccacia in the wood oven...). silvana and her sister amalia are totally gracious and helpful hosts - available anytime by phone or email. every place, event and restaurant that silvana recommended was absolutely wonderful. it's great spending time just relaxing at the house but it is also perfectly located to make day trips to ragusa/ragusa ibla, modica, scicli, chiaramonte-gulfi, noto, donalucata... i would highly recommend them all. there are also nice beaches and national parks not too far from the house by car. ask silvana for restaurants, etc. you won't be disappointed. if you haven't been to sicily before - just leave enough time when you sit down to eat in a restaurant. if you choose a full menu it can take some time to get thru 3 courses and dessert - but totally worth it - and you can also choose what you want ala carte, share things, etc. i have to say that our time here was really one of the most incredible vacation experiences we've ever had. rb

  • By far the best holiday villa to date! In the most beautiful setting you could ever imagine, in the heart of the Ragusa countryside, unbroken views of the surrounding landscape right through to the sea. The terrace was a true highlight with no need to leave - breakfast, lunch and dinner. A mere 10 minute drive to Marina di Ragusa, or do as we did and submerge yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the villa. Renovated to the highest spec, there really is little that needs improvement. All I could say is that the photos of the place are great, but the place itself is even better. Silvana and Amalia were incredibly hospitable and very informative of the local area. Fresh milk from the cows on the farm everyday. We will be back. Big grazie.

Quindi benvenuti e sentitevi a casa!
