Nes was a great host to our first trip to Turkey. She went not only gave us more than enough info and options to get to the flat from the airport, but also went out of her way to help us with rental car arrangements that needed a bit of translation. She had lots of ideas and suggestions around Istanbul according to our taste and interest and made us feel at home.
The flat is well located, the room was clean and tidy and a perfect base to explore the city. We explored all we wanted to see on foot from the flat. All round great stay. Thanks Nes.
I booked this for my dad and his wife, and they had such a wonderful stay with Nes. She was extremely kind to them and I am so grateful that she was so helpful and looked after them. They loved Istanbul and would like to come back, which is definitely partly due to Nes's hospitality and lovely flat. I hope to come and stay here sometime myself if I ever get the chance to come to Istanbul. Thanks Nes for making my dads trip so successful, and also for bringing Romana's bag to the station when she left it in your flat! All the best, Hannah (on behalf of Masud).
We had a fantastic time in Istanbul and Nes was the perfect host!
The communication with Nes was perfect. We got a detailed description on how to get to her place with different alternatives and the costs. We had nice and interesting chats, got good tips on where to go and how to get there and had a real good breakfast.
The location is really good. The flat is comfortable and clean and it’s close to public transportation and in walking distance to the Taksim Square.
Nes was a perfect hostess. I arrived very late my first night due to fight delays and not only did Nes wait up for me and greet me at the door with a smile, she sat up with me and we talked until wee hours of the morning. And the next night she waited up late for my lost luggage to be delivered. She was extremely accommodating. Nes was always busy with work but she took the time to show me around, always offering me breakfast, tea, coffee and advice on where to go and how to get there. Her place is clean, comfortable, lots of light, a small view of the boshorous and in a good location for ease of transportation to tram, funicular, metro, boats to east side, and to istikal St and Taksim. The highlight was meeting a new friend in Istanbul, Nes!
Had a fantastic trip in Istanbul. Communications with Nes were excellent and even with a late arrival in the destination street, Nes was there to greet us with a friendly shout from the apartment window above us. Nes and Daniel were perfect hosts, providing us with much needed local information on sites to see and how to get around Istanbul. We even used Nes' advice on how to get to the airport on public transport which cost us the grand total of AUD$3.The apartment was very pleasant and the only downside was the street noise from four floors below. We enjoyed Nes and Daniel's company many times and would gladly recommend this accommodation to other Airbnb subscribers.
alles bestens gelaufen!
We enjoyed tremendously our stay with Neslihan. We came to Istanbul as part of our honeymoon and we could not have found a better arrangement. The apartment is in a fantastic location, a 2 minute walk to the tram (a 5-10 minute ride into Sultanahmet) and a 5 minute walk to the happening area of Taksim square. The apartment itself is extremely clean and our room was very comfortable. The highlight was having Neslihan as a host. She is really the ultimate host: nice, warm, informative, accommodating, and a joy to be around. She prepared a breakfast for us on our first day, which was so sweet. She also gave us a great packet that she made full of Istanbul suggestions, which we used a lot. Neslihan made our visit to Istanbul extra special and we're sure that you'll love staying at her place.
Neslihan was a GREAT host, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay, offering tips about local transportation, sights, and restaurants. The simple Turkish breakfast provided on our first morning was a pleasant surprise! The room was as advertised, cozy with plenty of luggage storage and power outlets.
There were some negatives, though. It was noisy at night but I'd expect that to be the same anywhere else in the neighborhood, which was lively and the perfect place to call home while exploring Istanbul. Being late August, it did get sweat-in-bed hot! The provided fan did an okay job cooling the room, but air conditioning would have been a welcome improvement. Screens for the windows would also be nice, since we were devoured by mosquitos on some nights while trying to stay cool. The room noise from outside was obviously much higher with those windows open, too. If you're not familiar with how typical beds are made up in Turkey, you might perceive the bed as bare bones and uncomfortable but, based on what I slept on elsewhere in the country, I would just rate it "average".
In summary: awesome host, okay room. It got the job done, for a fair price.
Nelihan is a fantastic host and the care that she displays towards her guests is second to none I had a lovely stay in her flat and would consider her a new friend.
The room is close to Takism Square although if you're schlepping luggage you'll want to call a cab. Be sure to make sure the cab driver gives you the prices in Lira as many have tried to give the Lira price in Euros effectively doubling the cost with the current exchange rates.
It's also a nice walk from the flat to the water and from there you can hop on a bus or the tram depending on your sightseeting plans. Overall very convenient location and one that I also felt safe walking in once night had fallen.
Neslihan is a very kind and helpful host. Her flat is beautiful, tidy and well kept and in a very nice location, only three minutes walk from the tram to Sultanhamet and all historical sites and about 15 minutes walking to Istiklal. She gives you a lot of information about the city, and also a Istanbul card for the transportation and a local mobile phone. I spent lovely moments chatting with her, she offered me breakfast more than one time. In one word, she is amazing. I'm sure I'll meet her again, now I'm happy to say I have a new friend. Thanks Neslihan!
