Overall, an excellent apartment.
Owner present on check-in, most helpful, speaks English. Excellent location in Paris. Very clean, housekeeper comes 1/week. Great proximity to restaurants, stores, easy walking to all of Paris, cabs, etc. Excellent light from windows. Busy street below, a little loud on weekend nights with windows open but not really an issue.
Will stay here again!

This [vacation rental] on rue des Archives is in a wonderful location very convenient to Metro, le Marais, restaurants, nightclubs and shopping. The apartment is wonderfully bright, and has been thoroughly modernized. The kitchen has a new induction stove, refrigerator, convection oven, and dishwasher so -- for those of you who cook (as we do) -- this is a kitchen you can truly use and enjoy. What an improvement over the very small and functionally incomplete kitchens you find in many Paris apartments. The large and modern windows offer a wonderful view of rue des Archives below, and fill the room with lots of sunshine. The living room couch is very comfortable, as is the bed. There is ample bedroom closet space (something not often found in Paris apartments). Both the bedroom and the dining room/living room are very spacious rooms. We would recommend this apartment, and would love to stay here again.

This furnished apartment is located in the highly-in-demand area of the Marais, one of the few Paris neighborhoods to still having preserved almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. The Georges Pompidou Cultural Center (also known as Beaubourg), the vast Les Halles Mall, and the well-know Rue des Gravilliers, a residential and commercial street with nice greengrocers, fishmongers, and gorgeous restaurants and cafes, are all located in the vicinity of this accommodation. A little further is the royal Place des Vosges, a must-visit destination featuring the places of residence of many historic personalities and a number of fascinating museums. The most important points of interest in Paris, like the Louvre Museum, City Hall, and the Seine River with its enchanting islands, are in a fair walking distance from this accommodation.
Great proximity to restaurants, stores, easy walking to all of Paris, cabs, etc.

Please leave the appartement clean :
We take care of the towels and sheets after your departure, don't move them from beds and bathroom; we're going to do it....
but would you please wash up and clean your dishes before putting it away ?
And could you take out your trash too ?...
This apartment was fantastic. We were greeting by the housekeeper who explained how all the appliances and WIFI worked. The apartment is even better than shown in the photos; it is light and airy and in a perfect location from which to explore the Marais. It has everything ones needs to settle in and feel comfortable. In addition, it is beautifully decorated with some wonderful paintings and sculptures.
When we had questions, Sylvie responded immediately and usefully (re. shopping, restaurants, etc). Both my husband and I would like to stay here again.
The apartment is large by Parisian standards, lovely, very comfortable and as described.
Checking in and collecting keys was difficult as the host required a precise "appointment" time that she specified only 1 hour prior. As I was in transit I was unaware of the appointment and had to buy a sim card to contact her. However, she wouldn't answer her phone or call back as requested. We had to wait over an hour and this was inconvenient as we had heavy suitcases and nowhere to leave them.
The kitchen has no exhaust fan so we had to open windows to dissipate cooking odours.
Sylvie was generous and allowed late checkout which was really helpful.
Are you sure I didn't try to do my best to arrange the best check in possible ?
Are you sure you tried to call me from the transit, whereas you were already in Paris the day before your arrival - as your message bellow prooves ?
How many times did I try to reach you by AIRBNB without any answer ? Since the 25th of december (!!!)... I have been asking you to know when you will arrive ! And you only answered me the day before your arrival in the afternoon. It's very difficult to ask people to be available the day before to welcome you. that's why Aicha couldn't stay during 1 hour waiting for you ! the day before, I tried to have a precise hour but, once more, you didn't answer me... Fortunately AIcha could come as you call me ! And the check in time is usually at 14PM and you arrive at 10 AM ! And you are doing a bad review because you've been waiting ONE hour. Shame on YOU !
You are lucky that I prefered not to leave a review on you !
this is our AIRBNB messages :
Please count the number of time i ask you to give your schedule ! Very Funny !
please answer me quickly.

I've come to paris early and are staying nearby- can you please remind me
of th address and when it's available for us to come to the apartment?
Thank you Sylvie. I will let you know a rough time of arrival closer -
alternatively, I'll message you when we are on a train which will give a
closer estimate of time.
Because of the door security code, you don't need any key for the building front door. But you have to know it by heart... After the front door, there is another door. Aicha open it via the interphone. Then she is going to give you 2 sets of keys. One of the keys opens this door and the other opens the apartment door. A third key in one of the sets opens a small courtyard sownstairs (behind the elevator/lift) in which there are the building trach cans.
At Last and not least, don't forget to give the time of your arrival to arrange the best welcome.
Enjoy your stay. I suppose you've already been in Bordeaux...
All the best !
Thank you for your message. I am currently in France and at this stage I do not know what time I will be arriving. I note that you have given the address and the door security code. Where can I collect the front door key?
Would you please give me the schedule of your arrival so that I can manage the best greeting for you.
You're welcome. Happy New year.
That's wonderful. Thank you.
At this stage I don't know what time we will arrive on 5 Feb. We will be coming via train from Bordeaux (I think). Once I know, I'll let you know.
Thank you for your informative email.
Thank you to have booked the apartment. Thank you for your trust.
To arrange the best check in it's very important to tell me asap the schedule of your flight arrival and the name of the airport !
Sylvie is a wonder full welcoming host, she did her best to accommodate us, we arrived to the apartment few hours earlier of the check in time, she let her housekeeper to come earlier to make the apartment ready for us as early as possible. Sylvie was responding promptly to our text message for any question or request we have.
The apartment was very clean, spacious, all hard wood floor, cozy, the kitchen was equipment with all what you need from pots, plates etc..
The bedroom is huge, the beds for my wife and me was comfortable, the sofa in the living room need to be changed, the wi-fi was good , free local and international call to the US. Good size flat TV, the only drawback is the entire channel was in French.
The area, Le Marais is lovely, very active area, lots a goods restaurant around. Two metro stations walking distance from the apartment. Which make moving around Paris very easy.
My wife & I visited Paris several times before; it was the first time to stay in an apartment, space is coming a major issue for us, hotel rooms in Paris are very small, you have to be prepared mentally that staying in an appertment in a residential ( Historic area) is different than staying in an hotel with room service, housekeeper, ect.
Definitely in our next trip we will stay again in Sylvia apartment and we will recommend it to all our friends, it was the perfect setting for us.
By the way after our visit to Paris, we went for 3 days to Avigno, Sylvie offerd us to leave our extra lagguage at the appartment and to pick them up on our return from Avigno, how nice this sugestor from here !!!

My host, Sylvie, had arranged for her very helpful house cleaner to be in the apartment when I arrived to answer all my questions. Then Sylvie herself made a special trip to come see me so she could show me herself how to operate some of the things in the apartment, to be sure I was completely comfortable. It was delighfully easy to talk and laugh with her about things that we discovered we had in common. The space is wonderful -- full of light, with great views out the 5 big windows. And it's full of life itself -- books, artwork, colorful rugs and curtains, a kitchen with lots of different kinds of cooking equipment and things lovely to hold, to look upon, and to use. The neighborhood is easy to walk around in. In 2 minutes you can be on a main avenue, and in another 2 minutes you can wander farther afield, and get happily lost in the old narrow streets of the Marais, full of unique shops and cafes. I spent 9 very happy days in Sylvie's place, joined by a friend for the last 3 days -- the apartment easily can handle two people with separate lives, the couch is a sturdy, comfortable bed; while the bed in the bedroom is as ample as the spacious room that it is in. I've never in my life had so much closet space or such an ample supply of hangers!
Sylvie was fantastic to deal with. Very clear and easy communication. The apartment is in an amazing spot, very easy to get to and convenient to many metro lines. The place itself is bright and spacious with all the bits and pieces you need - internet, tv, washer/dryer. I hope to stay there again, definitely recommend.
Sylvie was a fantastic, friendly host with clear instructions and useful tips on local restaurants and things to do in Paris. The flat was gorgeous and bright despite the rainy weather, the bed was comfortable and being in the heart of the Marais was unbeatable.
A lovely apartment in a bustling neighbourhood with lots of quirky shops and good places to eat.
Sylvie made us feel really welcome and had some great advice on places to see and where to eat.
We will very happily book again.
