About this listing
Your bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed that sleeps two. There's a sliding door that opens to a private deck in the back yard, as well as a private bathroom with a tub and shower. Hear the ocean while you sleep! Close to Hwy. 1 bike route.
Please note below the county transient occupancy tax of 11%. This fee is separate from Airbnb fees and is payable to me, which I then pay to SC County.
You'll have your own room and bathroom with tub and shower. There's a door that opens to a deck and back yard. We also have another room with a futon that is available to use by arrangement, for an additional fee. Nearby is a park with a trail leading to the beach. In a few minutes you can walk to restaurants and to the resort that has a very nice bar (with live music sometimes) and restaurant.
You have access to the downstairs bedroom, bathroom and outside deck. Free parking on the street.
Your room includes coffee or tea and a continental breakfast.
You will have the downstairs to yourselves, as our main living space is upstairs. I'll bring your (continental) breakfast down to you at a pre-arranged time.
Our part of the Monterey Bay area is known for beautiful beaches, redwood forests, state parks, Pinot Noir and proximity to Bay Area cities San Francisco, Oakland and Palo Alto. We are also near Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Point Lobos and Big Sur- lots to do and see! Seascape Resort in the neighborhood is the venue for many events and weddings.
I can help you with directions and things to do- such as wine tasting, bike trails, and local events.
It's best to arrive by car. You can get around by bus, but it's time-consuming and not very convenient. Many people bike here but mostly for recreation, since there are bike trails and beautiful scenery nearby.

Other Things to Note
We need to add an 11% tax on the room, which must be collected from you, not airbnb. This is a county requirement. It comes to $11 per night. Please be prepared to pay it in cash.
The Santa Cruz County website has this information available.
Please, no smoking and no pets. This is a quiet, family neighborhood, so we expect our guests to respect the atmosphere. Late arrivals are ok if pre-arranged.
Cheri was warm and welcoming. The room (and the entire downstairs) was private, light, clean and with a very comfortable bed. We slept great. Garden's beautiful, too. And, we won't forget the breakfast treats! My wife and I recommend this Airbnb location to anyone visiting the area!
Cheri was ready and very welcoming, although we requested early arrival. The room was nice and in good condition. The neighborhood is peaceful and the location is very close to the nearby resort. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this host to others.
This was my husband and I first time using the airbnb and was a very great experience. We loved the location and the host was so nice. The room was clean and was very private for us. I would do this again.
It was a wonderful experience from the moment I arrived and was greeted by Cheri, a friendly, caring hostess, I would definitely stay here again. The comfortable bedroom with a nice deck looking into a pretty flower garden was an added bonus for a very quiet and restful evening.
The morning fruit plate with yogurt and granola delivered by Cheri, the sweetest hostess ever, was a wonderful way to start the next day. Easy walking distance to a nice park with beautiful ocean views and a quaint village with many choices for dinning. Definetlly looking forward to a return visit the next time I am in the area and plan to extend my visit to 2 days because I enjoyed it so much. This was the first time I had experienced an Airbnb and if they are all like this as a single senior lady I will be planning my future traveling like this. Cheri was so welcoming I felt like I was staying with extended family.
Can't wait to be back in the area for another visit.
Cheri was so welcoming. The room is delightful just as described, and the yard with the deck is right outside the sliding door, and is colorful and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet.
Cheri was amazing! She helped us from the minute we got in touch with her.
We stayed for 3 days at her lovely place we recommend it for traveling from la to sfo or wise versa
Cheri is the epitome of sweet and gracious. Loved the very private room and bath, lovely backyard and deck, and proximity to the bay, miles of nearly empty beach and views. There's a nearby clubhouse with great local jazz musicians--heard Cheri's husband sing! Lovely. Nice choices walkable for dinner and lunch. Felt very comfortable in the guestroom. Great night's sleep. Thanks!
About the Host, Cheri
I'm a French and English teacher, with 2 grown kids and a husband. Now that the kids are living elsewhere, we have room to welcome happy travelers. I love to hike and bike in the area. We enjoy the farmers' markets and produce stands, and I can safely say that my hobby is cooking, baking, collecting and making up recipes.
When not working, I'm probably traveling. The world is a big place, endlessly fascinating and worthy of the effort and expense it takes to experience it!
When home, we enjoy the local jazz scene; my husband sings jazz.
