The Phoenix Park on Your Doorstep

Apartment - Private room · Millrace Road, Dublin, Dublin, Ireland

Comfortable double room in a very stylish apartment with private bathroom.

The Space

Situated in a leafy development, you can just walk out the front door and into The Phoenix Park, the biggest walled park in Europe. Here you'll find many attractions - Dublin Zoo, the residence of the President of Ireland - Áras an Uachtaráin, Farmleigh, Ashtown Castle Visitors Centre and many more attractions and beautiful walks. Avail of bike hire and you could explore for the day.

The apartment itself has two double bedrooms (one guest and one mine) and two bathrooms with neither overlooked. The guest bedroom is fully furnished, you have a private bathroom, and there is wireless internet, cable TV and a washer/dryer in the unit. The kitchen, dining table and living area are all in a big, cozy, comfortable space and for your use too. There is communal car parking but this is limited.

The city centre is a short bus/train or taxi ride away and we're really well served by four bus routes so there is never a long wait. The train also takes you directly into one of the mainline train stations and into the heart of the city centre.

While the city, max 15/20 mins away, is vibrant and alive, there are also fun places nearby, restaurants, and practical ones too - you can get a quick blow dry, buy wine, get a facial, or just sit in a beautiful cafe along the canal as you plan your evening.

Finally, when I travel, there is another bedroom available, also with its own bathroom. Please inquire if this fits what you need.

* Have a latte or a smoothie at Lo-Cal Kitchen, a funky cafe in the development.
* Enjoy brunch at Douglas & Kaldi's by the canal on a sunny day.
* Grab a coffee and cake at the courtyard restaurant at Ashtown Castle; perfect after a leisurely walk in The Phoenix Park.
* Spend an evening socialising at The Hole in the Wall public house, where fantastic food is also on offer.
* Come for the St Patrick's Day Festival in March - see the city lit up green, enjoy the street céilí, music and street performances, the parade and much more.
* Experience an ever expanding Culture Night in September - a free night of culture, where, for one night only, the city’s museums, galleries, churches, historic houses, artists studios, cultural centres and more will open their doors late for a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure. Hundreds of talks, tours, performances and events to participate in and enjoy.
The list is endless!

  • Dee was a wonderful host, although we did not meet that often.
The flat and the area around are very beautiful.
Especially the bed was quite comfortable!

If we will come to Dublin once more, we loved to stay at Dee´s again!

  • Dee was a wonderful host! She provided me with tons of info on the area weeks before I arrived, allowing me to plan my trip out in advance. Dee exceeded my expectations and I would recommend her place for any couple! Thanks for every thing Dee :)

  • Dee is a truly wonderful host, we could not have asked for more, she was so helpful. She gave us a lift to our destination that evening and also went to great lengths for us to collect a jacket that we left behind which we really appreciated. She went above and beyond as a truly great Airbnb host. We found her to be very interesting and a great company and would thoroughly recommend her to anyone. The apartment is gorgeous, the room was really nice decorated with plenty of storage and the apartment itself is modern, very clean and up to date. You also have you're own large bathroom with bath and shower. There was on street parking inside the development which was very handy. The location is ideal, really close to the city centre and to Phoenix park. Dee had also prepared coffee and breakfast for us on leaving, we really hope to be back again soon in Dees.

  • My wife and I were celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary and we thought that on the way home we would visit an old friend who lived outside of Dublin. We didn’t realize how far outside of Dublin the town of Mullagh in County Cavan was. I had used Airbnb to book accommodations in Venice so I looked around the Dublin area and found Dee’s BnB. Dee was an excellent hostess and she went out of her way to make us feel at home. She has a great deal of knowledge of Dublin and the things that we just had to see. She even took the time to take us on a short tour of Phoenix Park before dropping us off near the Jamerson Distillery, one of those must see places. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about taking a room in someone’s condo but as I said Dee made us feel right at home. The condo was well back from the street, so there was little to no noise. It was only a short walk to the bus stop catch the bus into down town Dublin. The ride, while on the wrong side of the street, only took about 20 minutes. I would highly recommend contacting Dee if you are planning a trip to Dublin.

About
Hi, I'm a professional woman and a part-time personal trainer. I'm friendly and fun-loving and adore the outdoors. I'm well-traveled and, having lived abroad for a number of years, found myself drawn back to Ireland and to the people and the crack. A warm welcome awaits you at my wonderful space in a great neighborhood, Castleknock - a great place to live if you like to walk, talk and socialize. I'll help you in any way I can so that you get the most out of exploring the cultural, historical and exciting capital city that Dublin is. The unit is suitable for either business or pleasure travelers and is a great base to look for work, take in the sights, or travel beyond.
