A lovely, peaceful studio apartment in an historic and artistic home. The gardens are lush and beautiful to wake up to. The setting, at the top of hill near the University of SF, gives you a scenic relationship to the city. This quiet, residential neighborhood is cozy and in close walking distance to restaurants, parks and museums. Last, but not least, Elizabeth is a warm, caring and very friendly host.
Our host met us upon arrival and showed us the studio and the shared garden. She answered all of our questions and made us feel welcome. The studio was charming and well arranged for cooking, eating, reading, sleeping, and conversation. The studio was convenient to shopping and restaurants, and close to MUNI transportation, though our host (our son) had rented a car for the week of our stay. We enjoyed a tour of the house, with its distinctive history and decor, and we were able to view our hostess's artwork and hear a bit about its origins and style.
Everything about this space was wonderful. When we arrived, Elizabeth miraculously called on the parking angels to provide us with parking (she's got some power, let me tell you) and then gave us a tour of the apartment which included the outdoor garden space which was serene and SO inviting. The apartment itself is spacious and open and has a whole host of wonderful amenities including a full kitchen, wonderful towels and linens and extra pillows and comfy blankets and FANTASTIC books. It's also in a wonderful neighborhood within close proximity of great restaurants and public transportation. Elizabeth was a gracious and generous host and had flowers and cookies and a bottle of wine on the dining room table when we arrived. We felt like we were in our own little haven for the week and were sorry to leave.
Elizabeth was welcoming and happy to share her local knowledge of San Francisco. The apartment is accessed through an independent entry to the main house and Elizabeth is in tune with peoples' needs. Guests can be as independent as they desire and are welcome to use the beautiful garden.
This home is accurately named 'The Palace of the Soul' as its artistic decoration is both inspiring and soothing. It contains everything a traveller would desire and the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped.
It is within walking distance of Haight Ashbury, local shops and transport. We would love to return to this haven and also meet up with Elizabeth again.
This is our third stay with Elizabeth and it truly feels like our home away from home. Elizabeth is the most gracious host you can ask for. The apartment in is always clean and well equipped. We have been so pleased with our accommodations, that we have recommended Elizabeth to two of our relatives. My wife and I are already making plans to rent again from Elizabeth and highly recommend her to anyone.
We loved our visit! The photos and description were 100% accurate, and the glowing reviews of Elizabeth and her graciousness were all deserved! She went above and beyond with information, brochures, welcome treats, and immediate responsiveness to all our needs. We were totally at home in this comfortable setting. The only challenge was the street parking, but we navigated it easily and always found a parking spot near our home. Without reservation, we would return!

I am a visionary artist and teacher. I live in San Francisco at the gorgeous Palace of the Soul where I love to welcome my tribe of Cosmic Cowgirls as well as mystic adventurers from other lands!!! I have been a traveler all my life, from the time I was 6 months old and it is a great pleasure to open my very unique home to other fellow adventurers.
I adore people....all kinds and all ages and as a host I will welcome you and I am willing to be your guide to this wonderful city or let you discover it for yourself. I do my best to be sensitive to what it is that you want from your stay and to provide you with a warm, welcoming and peaceful sanctuary from where you can explore this incredible city.
I work at home as an artist and so have a very flexible schedule that allows me to be available for check ins and visiting with my guests if they like to visit. I live with my sweetheart, Fast Freddy Sims who is a very talented blues musician, songwriter, artist and landscape designer. My youngest daughter (18) still lives at home and my older two children come and go (23 and 20). I would describe our household as a loving, kind family who are very passionate and dedicated to creative self-expression and the arts.
I have lived in Italy, England, Brazil, and Mexico and traveled to Greece, Scotland, Peru,Germany, Holland, Portugal, Spain, the Seychelles, the Caribbean, France and there are probably countries that I am forgetting. My style of traveling has changed throughout the years and so I believe that I understand and am open to travelers of all types.
I love being an Airbnb host for a multitude of reasons. These include what I see as a new culture and community that Airbnb has given birth to. For me it means being part of a loving and inspiring perspective that views the world and all people in it as part of one human family. I have discovered that we are so often connected in ways that are wonderful and enriching and delightfully surprising!! I am passionate about the importance of hospitality in our interactions with others!
A little bit about my ART;
I am a Contemporary Symbolist. I create art to heal myself and others and work with prayer, meditation and sacred symbols and archetypes to reweave and re-story my life in a way that is legendary, passionate, joyful and ALIVE!!
My art depicts a spiritual journey, the telling of a story that contactsthe viewer at the level of the soul. My art inspires others to look more deeply at the work and at themselves as they view layers and layers of prayer, hope, paradox and spirit woven together between particles of paint, bead, rhinestone, shell, bone and glitter. As a teacher, I encourage my students to explore materials that animate their sense of wonder, joy and play.
By playing with the sparkle of jewels, beads & glitter the divine sparkle of imagination that lives within them is awakened and they gain access to their own healing and personal transformation. Creating in this way leads to the understanding of how the sacred exists in matter and this wisdom integrates the spiritual, emotional and physical selves. My world view is that of a symbolist. I am present to the meaning in all aspects of life.
I am a trained energy healer as well as being a visionary artist and teacher. I maintain the energy of our home with a beautiful array of different techniques, including working with the Archangels and clearing heavy, dense energy with sacred sage spray, blessings and prayers. I love to add extra blessings for all my guests so that their stay in my home is peaceful, relaxed and joyful. It is a delight to me to hear how well people sleep and how wonderful they feel when they are visiting.
I believe that the greatest gift of my life is the presence of other people in it and your presence in my home is a gift that I am grateful for.
