Come stay in our spruced up "boys room" on the 2nd floor. Lots of space to spread out and watch TV or read and be by yourself. Or you can join us in the common areas of our family home. Ideal location for visits to New York, Westchester and Fairfield
With my boys off at college, I have spruced up their bedroom to make it comfortable for travelers but the toys and games are still there for guests to enjoy. This sunny and cheerful bedroom has two twin beds, a table and easy chair. There is cable television and wifi is reliable and fast. The room is on the second floor.
On occasion, you may share the newly renovated hall bathroom with another guest. There is a tub and shower and pedestal sink. The window in the shower fills the room with daylight.
Down the hall there is a small table where two people can eat, read or have their morning coffee and look out over the front garden. Coffee and tea are available but meals are not included. You are welcome to prepare simple meals in our kitchen.
There is street parking but a car is not essential.
You are welcome to eat at our kitchen table or on our back deck in good weather. A 2nd floor table and fridge is also available. Laundry is for the use of guests staying a week or longer.
Interaction with Guests
I work from home so during the day I am available to answer quick questions but cannot take time from my work day for socializing, unfortunately. Of course I always like to get to know our visitors on arrival.
This is a suburban area with village charm. Downtown Old Greenwich is one block away with shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a post office and a supermarket. There are several beautiful parks and areas to hike. A bike is available for riding to the beach 1 mile from the house. Depending on the season and the time of day, entering the beach may require a $5 guest pass obtainable from the community center nearby. Everyone is friendly. Everything is close. We love our community and you will too.
This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the New York metropolitan area or southern New England. The train station is a 7 minute walk from our home. It provides service to New York city and all the suburban stops through Westchester County. Taking the train north will get you to Stamford, Bridgeport and New Haven and all the stops in between. Amtrak service is from Stamford, one stop away by Metro North. In addition everything you need for your stay can be obtained at one of the shops in our village which are 2 blocks away.
The owners are highly sensitive to the smell of smoke therefore we regret that we cannot offer our home to smokers. We do not allow pets. Please do not ask.
There is an abundance of tables in our home, please do not eat on upholstered furniture or on the bed.
Guests should recognize they are staying in a family home.
Another great stay! With the winter chill kicking in, I got to appreciate even more being a 5 min walk to the Old Greenwich train station. I no longer have to rent a car during my visits back east! There's also a supermarket and a great pizza place within a 3 min walk, which came in handy one day when I had to work from home.
Christine's house is very nice and located in a very charming, woodsy neighborhood. And they are truly wonderful hosts!
Christine is a great host and a neat lady. Accommodations were very comfortable and I almost forgot I was in New England, she and Jim received me so warmly. Their house is also a stone's thrown from Greenwich Point Park, not to be missed if you'd like to stay in the area during the winter months!
Another great and very comfortable stay! Thanks for your hospitality, Christine, and for making me feel home during my business trips back east!
My visit here exceeded expectations. I was hoping for a quiet place to rest before a big training and Christine helped to make it feel like an unexpected mini-getaway with a fantastic guide to local sites. I'm a nature girl and Old Greenwich is so beautiful! So is the home. A great welcoming feel. Thanks again.
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Easily accessible to shops, restaurants, and train.

I am a writer, blogger and a published author of aviation-related books, a married woman in her mid fifties. I have four grown children. I live in Connecticut and travel about 6 months out of the year for work, usually on my own.
My first time using airbandb was in Abu Dhabi in 2011. It was a great experience. Since then I've used airbnb about 40 times as a guest all over the world. I enjoyed it so much that in 2012 I became an airbnb host at my home in a New York city suburb and also at 2 Berkshire Mountain vacation properties in Litchfield County, Connecticut.
When people "get it" that this is a home stay, not a hotel, the experience can be fantastic.
I have met some amazing people and stayed in some amazing homes. I am airbnb's biggest fan.
