Dealing with Michel and property manager Bert were easy from start to finish. Very flexible with our ever changing plans and easy to communicate with. The condo is a perfect place for a great escape, full amenities including stocked kitchen, dipping pool with ocean views and wifi.
The neighborhood is perfectly located out of the heart of the hustle and bustle and tucked away a few blocks off a main road. The neighborhood holds many families and is completely safe and walkable at all hours of the night from la playa or bars although a taxi from basically anywhere is 50 pesos.
Be sure to grab tamales from the truck driving around the neighborhood and stock the fridge with beers.
Thank you for an amazing time in puerto vallarta, we can't wait for the next.
We spend a wonderful week at the Casa de Paz. Michel was incredibly helpful before we arrived and gave us directions and taxi information. His neighbor Bert checked us in, gave us restaurant recommendations, and helped us get a cab to the airport. The condo was beautiful, we kept all the windows and doors open while we were home and made use of the pool. As it's not heated it's a little cold, but it feels amazing after a day at the beach and a walk up the hill (which is an incline, but also necessary after all the tacos and cervezas we had! We didn't take a cab once, except to and from the airport). The neighborhood is lively and has a local feel to it, and the condo is very quiet at night - we slept wonderfully. It's the perfect place to stay if you're looking to be close to everything, but not feel like you're stuck in the tourist areas - I couldn't recommend it more.
My husband and I loved every moment of our four week stay at Michel's condo. It is a beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed space, with great views over Puerto Vallarta. The pool is a fantastic bonus and we made great use of it. The wifi connection, which we are totally reliant upon, was fast and strong. The neighbourhood is charming, authentic, and conveniently located near grocery shops and restaurants. There's also a tamale truck that circles the neighbourhood several nights a week, which we highly recommend. Finally, the property manager, Bert, is always on hand to deal with any small issue you might encounter. He is a really nice guy and a wealth of information about PV. We can't thank him enough for taking such good care of us.
The apartment is clean and conveniently located in downtown of Puerto Vallarta. It has a very nice view from a balcony and a lot of good restaurants and bars located nearby. The manager of the apartment, Bert is very friendly and responsive. He met us upon our late arrival and arranged a cab for our way back to the airport.
The important part first: Would we stay here again? Absolutely.
The neighborhood was in what we felt was the heart of the "real" Puerto Vallarta yet was close enough to the business/tourist district to be convenient. It was a perfect blend. You'll likely hear a rooster crowing and neighborhood activity in the early evening but it quiets down after dinnertime and was never a problem. Just normal city life.
Although Michel wasn't present, Bert, the manager, was there to meet us and for our checkout. He did a great walkthrough of the condo and an orientation to the neighborhood, including arranging a great price for the taxi trip back to the airport. He had recommendations for local restaurants as well as sidewalk food stands.
The condo has a funky local feel to it. The view to the coast was just like the picture. The pool, while looking awfully inviting, was just a bit too cool in December for us to use, although we tried. The condo had a nice layout and certainly would not have felt crowded if we were there with another couple or were a family with kids.
Then there's the hill people mentioned in other reviews. We didn't find it that bad, and we walked it a couple times each day.
The condo was beautiful and just as pictured. The location was great...walking distance to activities, shops, restaurants, and the beach. The condo sits on a hill, and that hill is a beast! But it's completely doable given you're an able-bodied person. The pool and balcony are lovely...it was nice to sit in after a day out and about. Bert is nice and super accommodating...he was there to meet us at the condo on time and gave us a very detailed lay of the land. I would stay here again and again!
We fell in love with Puerto Vallarta, and this apartment was a large part of that. It's central to everything, but in a neighborhood (complete with chickens and roosters afoot), so you can get a better feel for the city than you'd ever get from a resort. The pool is such a wonderful bonus. We spent our afternoons basking in the sun, reading in the pool and recharging for the evening. Bert greeted us as we arrived and gave us a warm welcome and quick introduction to the neighborhood, and he was back to see us off, even calling us a cab and negotiating the fare before we got in. We would return here in a heartbeat. The hill is definitely a climb, but with all the tacos we ate, our bodies thanked us for the workout.
I love Mexico , and travel extensively throughout the country , but Puerto Vallarta offers the best in weather , beach and world class food and services , but in the classic Mexican traditions !
