Comfortably furnished, (double bed & down comforter, easy chairs, walk-in closet, desk) in beautiful Capitol Hill. Downtown Denver: 15 blocks; 1 block from 2 bus routes, close to parks, restaurants, pubs, music venues, shopping. Please visit my other listings: "Private Suite of Rooms" and "Sweet and Sunny in Capitol Hill".
This is a sweet little room, (medium-sized room really at 15.5' x 10.5'), with an adjoining area that serves as a home office and is furnished with a desk, lamp and office chair. This adjoining area measures 10' x 4', not including lighted walk-in closet.
The house itself is a charming Victorian with a sunny southern exposure and hardwood floors throughout. The house is located one block from Cheesman Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Guests are free to use the common areas of the house, kitchen, dining room, living room. Bedrooms are considered private and off-limits. The other area of the house that is private and off-limits is my art studio in the back of the house. It is frequently very messy, as this is the nature of art-making.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to adapt myself to the needs of my guests. If someone has their own agenda or just wants to be left alone, I respect that. Otherwise, I love sharing my wonderful city, and so am always available for information about what to do in Denver, where to go for great food - so many places - or how to get around the city.
The house is located in the heart of Capitol Hill. The neighborhood was developed during the Victoria Era, so the properties here are beautiful. I especially love the old-growth trees and the lovingly tended gardens all throughout the neighborhood. Most importantly, just about everything of interest in Denver is only minutes away: downtown Denver and the Convention Center, great restaurants and pubs, music venues, parks, libraries, museums, it's all close by.
Getting around Denver from here is really easy. There are 2 major bus routes one block from my front door, the 15 on Colfax and the 10 which stops in Cheesman Park. It is a 10 minute car ride to both major highways, I-70 and I-25. Via 6th Avenue, you can be in the foothills of the Rockies within 15 - 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Walking distance to downtown Denver is about 15 minutes, exactly 15 blocks in fact.
This is my second time staying at Cynthia's. Apart from running a well managed and comfortable B&B, I must say that Cynthia works hard to ensure her guests feel at home and have a comfortable and memorable stay while respecting your privacy. The location of her B&B in Capitol Hill could not be better with proximity to downtown and a lot of good eating, pubs and entertainment. For me it is much better than staying at a hotel and significantly cheaper. Thank you, Cynthia:)
Cynthia was extremely gracious and easy to stay with. Her home is warm and inviting and she did everything possible to make me comfortable!
Cynthia was a very welcoming host and it was a pleasure meeting her. The house -- in a great location near the park -- and the room were both very comfortable and relaxing. Wonderful visit -- thanks so much for everything, Cynthia! Highly recommended!
What a cozy old home on a quiet street in Denver! This was my first stay in Denver and won't be my last. The bed was comfy and the footed bathtub was a trip back in time. Though Cynthia and I never had a chance to connect and I was sad that we didn't spend time over a cup of coffee at least, I could tell from our text messages that she is a warm and welcoming person. Would loved to have learned more about her and her lovely home. Next time.
Cynthia was a wonderful host! She was very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. It felt very good to be there.
Perfect host. Super friendly and welcoming and a great old house. Wonderful neighborhood (so close to Cheesman Park!!). Would stay again for sure :)
Cynthia has a beautiful home in a great part of Denver. We shared some delightful conversations and she served the best coffee cake I've ever had. Highly recommended.
