About this listing
My cosy, light and fresh apartment is the perfect point of departure for your Copenhagen explorations. Located in central and quiet Frederiksberg, you are close to all the precints of Copenhagen. I hope you will like my little home.
You are going to live in the heart of Frederiksberg in a 1st floor apartment overlooking the garden and a private street. Your favorite precincts, Nørrebro, Vesterbro and the CIty Centre is within walking distance, while still being able to enjoy a good night's sleep in a quiet, gentrified neighbourhood.
Copenhagen is a crazy little hub of things to do, and I've packed the Guidebook with little surprise places, which I hope you will like.
The apartment consists of the open kitchen-dining area, facing south towards the garden, a bathroom and your bedroom. The fully furnished bedroom has linen, duvets, pillows and towels and the shower is warm.
The building is from the early 1900s, and the building code asks that we respect the neighbours and not make noise after midnight in the weekends. This means that you can expect a nice, quiet sleep when you come home, but it also means that there should be quiet after midnight.
There is a laundry in the basement. It operates with tokens. Please let me know in advance if you expect to be wanting to do laundry, so I can get the tokens ready for you. It's 5 dkk per token.
I keep a third room, my room, locked. I will be away from the apartment while you are here, but I will meet you, give you keys and a quick tour of the place. If I for some reason is not able to meet you in person, I will make sure a friend of mine can introduce you to the neighbourhood and the apartment.
Interaction with Guests
I suggest we keep in touch via AirBnB, and when you book, you will get my mobile number, where you can contact on (website hidden).
Please email or text if you have any questions.
Frederiksberg C is a quiet, green part of Copenhagen. You are centrally placed to reach all the precincts in Copenhagen, and the neighbourhood itself is quiet, green and nice. HC Ørstedsvej has some nice delicatesse stores and the Emmery's Bakery down the corner has excellent coffee. For pastry, I recommend that traditional Danish Bakery down HC Ørstedsvej (Guidebook) for some rich, buttery Danish :-)
To get around, there is a GOBike stand at Forum station. You can rent the bike using your credit card and it comes with a map of Copenhagen and places, where you can park the bike. The website is (website hidden) forward slash en.
The Garden of Eden (Guidebook) is just a few minutes walk away and is a secluded (secret) garden of Frederiksberg. It's a nice place for a book or a run in the morning, if you are in the mood for that? The lakes consist of 4-5 lakes (depending on how you count) and they are a total of ca. 6 km - makes for a nice run.
From the airport:
Both metro and trains run from the airport and takes about 15-20 mins to the city. Tickets can be bought at the airport ticket centre, after you have exited the baggage area.
You can take the train to the Central Train Station if you are going to explore the city before meeting me - or you can take the metro to Forum station, which is about a 10 minute walk to my apartment. The metro is the preferred way to travel, if you are coming directly from the airport to my apartment.
Around my apartment, Buses 30 and 3A run on the major roads, use the the journeyplanner website to get easy instructions on how to best get around.
I advise everyone to get a bike while you are here. With the Baisikle (see Guidebook) you can book a bike even before you arrive in Copenhagen.
At the airport, you can also buy the 72 hour City Pass which lets you travel freely within zones 1,2,3 and 4 (the airport is in Zone 4, and Copenhagen is in zones 1 and 2). This is a bargain if the weather may not be with you, or if you want to get around without bikes.
Other Things to Note
I update my calendar throughout the year, but it will rarely be possible to book my apartment more than three months in advance. If you would like to book my apartment on certain dates that are not yet made availabe in the calendar, just send me a message, we might be able to work something out :-)
For a cheap way to go out, try the Earlybird website. It's in Danish and you need to choose the city København (Copenhagen). If you can say how many you are, you can book on the day, get 33% discount on selected restaurants. Restaurant Fabian and L'Eduction Nationale are in the Guidebook.
To rent bikes - go to Baisikli, or get the full range of suggestions from VisitCopenhagen.
We cannot help being a bit particular about some things in our homes. I ask that you bear these simple requests in mind. Thank you so much.
*Please take off your shoes when entering the apartment to protect the floor.
*If you spill on the floor, please use hot water immediately to avoid the stain to remain.
House rules in general
*No noise after midnight in weekends
*Please respect neighbours when using the staircases as the noise travels well in an old building
*You cannot smoke inside. Please go outside and remove any cigaret butts from the ground.
*Pets are not allowed.
*Please use care with kitchen utencils. Pots and Pans are Teflon based, so no sharp tools can be used as it ruins the teflon base. Feel free to put everything into the dishwasher except wooden kitchen utencils, the tea and coffee pot.
*The heat is monitored by a thermostat. The radiator monitors the heat in the room and adjusts the activity of the radiator accordingly. Level 2 on the thermostat is 20 degrees C. If you open the window and leave the thermostat to 2, it will increase the activity because of the cold wind coming in. Please close the thermostat when you open the windows.
Katherine was an awesome host. She gave us a warm welcome to her cozy, warm and bright apartment. Also, she gave us directions to cool city locations, where to eat, have fun etc… The apartment was close to all main attractions by walk - 10min walk to the Forum metro station that leads to the airport and all over the town, 15 minutes walk to Tivoli, city Town Hall, 30 min to Nyhavn. We didn’t even use the public transportation, because everything was so close to the apartment.
The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured.
Beautiful place, fully recommended! Many thanks to Kathrine! :)
Kathrine's apartment is great: very comfortable and homely with a good shower, well-equipped kitchen, fast internet, and a comfortable bed. The area is great and within walking distance from the centre of Copenhagen - we only used public transport to arrive from the airport which meant we saved lots of money. Kathrine was a great host, was very welcoming, provided us with essentials, and stayed in touch before and after our stay. Very much recommended.
Kath was the perfect host, she greeted us on arrival and gave advice on places to visit, eat etc. Her flat is lovely, clean and bright and in a charming location, close to the Metro but also within walking distance of main attractions. A great base for couples!
Kathrine was wonderful to work with throughout the entire experience. She is very kind as well as professional in her manner. She met us at our arranged time and spent a huge amount of time orienting us to Copenhagen. The apartment was exactly as pictured and super clean. The location is wonderful, just a few minutes away from the Forum metro stop. We walked one evening back from Tivoli to the apartment in 20 minutes. Kathrine was so thoughtful in having refreshments waiting for us. (wine, tea, coffe, fruit, milk, and more) staying at Kathrine's apartment was an easy choice even though there are hundreds to choose from in Copenhagen.
The appartement was supernice and Katherine was very flexible and open. Perfect place to stay!
First of all we need to quote all the other reviewers of the apartment, it's really amazing how close the apartment is to central Copenhagen but yet a place to relax and spend a good nights sleep!
The apartment itself is lovely furnished, super clean and light-flooded! In the three nights we spent there, we didn't miss anything!
Thanks to the private parking permission, parking was also no problem!
And last but not least, Kathrine is a great host, answering all questions and full of great recommendations for Copenhagen!
To sum up: the best choice in Copenhagen!
