We stayed in this apartment for 3 months and we liked the rooftop with its view and the big balcony. It is a good location with the HaCarmel right around the corner and the sea 10 min. away. But besides that we have to say that it is really dirty and badly furnished. The washing machine and also the WiFi are not working properly. There are broken furnitures and the sofas are nasty. Another problem is that the people living in the other apartment always have to pass through this apartment in order to get to theirs, because there is only one entrance. And since the renter is at home most of the time you cannot expect full privacy, in fact he might come over very often, get some things out of the living room, bath room or even your bedroom.
Furthermore there are sometimes couchsurfers in either your or his apartment which is fine if you are ok with it, but it might be disturbing for some people.
Itay is a very friendly host who lives in an adjoining apartment. There is a really nice terrace on the roof, reachable by 4 meter high ladder on his balcony. Full use of kitchen and facilities, although I did not take advantage. The price and location are hard to beat. Five minutes from the beach, one minute from an amazing market and bustling sidewalk cafes. Fifteen minutes walk, you're downtown, and the other direction you're in Jaffa. Hope to stay again in the future.
Itay has been a really pleasant and helpful host, leting us stay more than planned at the beginning. The appartement is very nice and we enjoyed going up on the roof where we had an amazing view on Tel Aviv :)
Nice place, great location.
Good value all around.
Itay is very responsive and helpful!
The description of the flat had not been corrected: The owner had moved and didn't live in any "Penthouse" any more though his new flat is still close to the sea. When he told me, airbnb had already taken the money so that I couldn't cancel any more. The house was difficult to find: the street "Ha-Tavor' has no signs and there are two buildings with the same number "35"! The staircase smelled cat piss, and all the interruptors in the staircase were at least half broken. We felt that we could not stay in this place and went to search for a hotel. Happily we found one (though it was 10 p.m.). I will certainly never use airbnb again!
I am sorry and surprised to hear that. Max came with his wife late at night, when they sat in my living room for half an hour complaining about general issues (Israeli airport etc.) and then left to a restaurant. Later he returned alone, explaining that this was the last night of their trip and he realized that his wife wanted something fancier than a "bnb". That's cool.
A few things in response:
1. I did not move anywhere. Perhaps he was dropped off in the wrong address.
2. my place does indeed have a roof (as can be seen in the pictures). Max and his wife were exhausted and didn't care to see the rest of my apt.
3. Max specifically said he doesn't want his money back.
Now I have my 1st bad review on my place and Max is unsatisfied. Bad communication? Perhaps. I am more than willing to return his one-night stay fee, and apologize regardless of the matter. The customer is always right.
Itay's apartment was my first place for living in Israel and I really can say that I had a wonderful time! Itay is a very helpful and welcoming host, and a wonderful person! It will be my pleasure to come again.
Itay is a very nice guy who did everything possible to make me feel welcome. Helped my carry my suitcase up the stairs (yes, there are 4 flights, but it's worth it to be in the penthouse). Cooked a couple of good meals for me, was very generous with his food and time. The place itself is (website hidden) Aviv apartments are not luxury, so don't expect that. But for Tel Aviv, this place is pretty good. The room is basic, and fine. Comfortable bed. The walls are a little thin. The living room is huge, lots of couches. The balcony is the best part. Great view, peaceful, quiet (for Tel Aviv). Lots of restaurants and stuff around during the day. At night, very quiet. I'd stay again for sure.
Staying at Italy's was like staying at home in Tel Aviv. A gracious host - he was there to help with any issue. Well-equipped kitchen, clean bed and shower. Central A/C and good wi-fi connection, The terrace (when no dust outside) is fantastic - especially the view of the skyline and the night sky. For market enthusiasts, it is right next to Carmel market but miraculously, you don't get to hear the noise. Very close to one of TEl Aviv's 3 local bus station hubs. Lots of great food places around. I was here as a student and it was great for me to focus and concentrate. I would recommend Itay's place to anyone who wishes to visit Tel Aviv on a tight budget.
Great experience! Fresh sheets, excellent location (a short walk from the Clara club and the beach), chill guy (he did our dishes!). Highly recommended.
