We recommend using our Free bikes to get around the area, New orleans is a small enough city geographically you can get virtually anywhere by a short bike ride!
It's hard for Becca and I to have a bad time in New Orleans regardless; but staying in Andrew and Amanda's home made our stay all the more pleasant. We found the decorations in the Marie Antoinette room very charming as well as in the rest of the rooms. Being able to share a kitchen and refrigerator was such a convenience, allowing us to bring home leftovers and prepare sandwiches to take along for the day. The kitchen along with the bikes and the free laundry puts you at a real advantage here, versus staying in a hotel where you will definitely pay more to stay this close to the French Quarter/Downtown (trust me, I looked) and not have half of the amenities. Plus, going into the French Quarter is a very short ride on the 88 bus which you can pick up right across St. Claude. I could go on but by now you should be convinced that I am recommending you stay here for your next visit to New Orleans. I hope that you enjoy your stay as much as I did. Laissez le bon temps rouler!
The experience was great. The room was exactly as described, quiet, comfortable and clean. A good selection of bicycles to choose from that I greatly enjoyed. Andrew was helpful and prompt in all ways. Highly recommended!
Andrew and Amanda left lots of useful information. It was easy to get into the house using the locked box. I hadn't quite realized that there were many rooms in a row, but luckily, there were two bathrooms. Our room, the Marie Antoinette, was a little dark. Also, it was also very chilly (67) during the night. We couldn't find any extra blankets so we used the towels. There is a very good BBQ place, The Joint, about a 10 minute walk away. The kitchen was very large, but as we were only there for one night, we only used the fridge.
Thanks Andrew & Amanda! Loved your guys hospitality and the room was super cute :) Overall clean room and bathrooms! My boyfriend and I had a great time exploring the neighborhood. Thanks again!
The Marie Antoinette room was excellent!! The king bed is nice and comfy, the room is really charming, and the whole house is nicely remodeled - two full bathrooms! The bikes are a really helpful touch, as is the booklet they print up for guests - I carried it with me the whole trip. We weren't in the house much, but Andrew and Amanda were fast to respond to our questions in the leadup to our stay, and they really aim to make the experience as easy and pleasurable for their guests.
We really enjoyed our stay at the House of Sweet Dreams in the Bywater. We stayed in "The Harem" for the first part of our stay and on the return, we stayed in "The Marie Antoinette" room. Both rooms were nice and had comfortable beds. The place was impeccably clean. The neighbourhood seemed a bit rough around the edges at first, but once we got out and explored, we totally fell in love with it. Andrew's "zine" has some great tips in it. We really appreciated that there were bikes to use, albeit a bit aged. It made exploring NOLA very easy. We met Andrew a few times during our stay and he is a great host. He was very helpful to us and made our stay in NOLA that much better. Thanks, Andrew! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the House of sweet dreams to our friends!
Andrew and Coco were awesome hosts! Quick to communicate they did everything to make our stay pleasant and comfortable.
If you are planning to visit New Orleans, I highly recommend staying here! With great restaurants, cafés and music nearby, you are in a happening part of town (for the non-bourbon st crowd). We made great use of the bikes they made available and could not be happier with our first Airbnb experience.
In addition to great accommodations, they provide a "zine" with great recommendations for where to go. If you are a first-timer to NOLA or Airbnb, or you are sick of the same old hotels, stay with Andrew and Coco. You will be glad you did!
Nice room, clean, spacious
Nice bathroom (x2)
Not too far from French quarter and downtown.
Preferable to have a car to drive there anyway
Nice stay! Only disappointed to not meet our hosts
Coco and Andrew were terrific hosts. The room was creatively furnished and decorated. Everything about it was quiet and clean. You're in the heart of the Bywater neighborhood. Great deal!
I absolutely love Coco and Andrew! I would never stay anywhere else in New Orleans. Their hospitality is tremendous and I love the comfort of the rooms.
