Roppongi is a neighborhood in central Tokyo, being the location of many artists' lofts and art galleries, and also, more recently, for the wide variety of stores and shops ranging from trendy boutiques to outlets of upscale national and international chain stores.
Famous as home to the rich Roppongi Hills area and an active night club scene. Many foreign embassies are located in Roppongi, and the night life is popular with locals and foreigners alike. It is in the southern portion of the circle described by the Yamanote Line, south of Akasaka and north of Azabu.

This place seems to be in the heart of Roppongi. It was my first time visiting Tokyo and the directions Jennifer provided were excellent! I was nervous we weren't going to be able to find the room but thanks to the directions we found it quite easily. The room was a little bit smaller than I expected but if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room it's perfect. The ac in the room worked well and was a nice break from the humidity of Japan. The pocket wifi that came with the room was also excellent as it provided me with the ability to check maps throughout Tokyo and not worry about getting lost. If I were to stay in Roppongi again I would definitely consider staying here again. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!
The place was a little difficult to find at first. After finding the place what i found is that 2 blocks in Roppongi makes a huge difference. This place is a hovel. The neighborhood that surrounds it is filled with hustlers and prostitutes. You can't travel the street without being accosted. Due to Honami (cherry blossom festival) I was charged an outrageous price (compared to my 3 other bookings in Roppongi during this time period) for this apartment that reminded me of Time Square in the 80's.
Jennifer looks like a nice gal. I would sooner assume she is a slum lord named Rizzo trolling the streets of Time Square for a fix.
It was in a very convenient location. The directions provided were spot on and easy to follow. There were only two of us and it would be a little cramped for more than two. The room is perfect for a night out and a place to crash afterwards.
Overall a good price for a terrific location.
Place was very small for 3 people but can't beat the location. All in all recommended.
The listing description was accurate. It was a very nice apartment. It fit me, my friend and both our very large suitcases comfortably. The kitchen was a little small but still easy enough to cook full meals. The pocket WiFi was very helpful when traveling around Japan. If we had any questions about the room the host was quick to answer. It is located less then a block away from the main Roppongi street (nightlife, 24 hour food and shopping area). Close enough to have fun at night, far enough to not hear people partying while trying to sleep. This place is great for people who want to see the sights and for people who just want a weekend to relax in a home away from home.
There are two Roppongis. There is the upscale one of Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi Hills and then there is the downscale one of bars, african touts and prostitutes. This apartment is definitely a a part of the second one. The walk to and from the metro, especially at night (but also in the early morning), so a labyrinth of hustlers. The apartment itself is fine, but nothing special. There are definitely better values in Tokyo (and even in the neighborhood).
If you're looking for a really great space in Tokyo, SOHO apartment in roppongi is for you. It's in a really central part of the Tokyo night life and is only about a 3 to 5 minute walk from the convenience stores, various bars and boutiques, the subway entrances, and only about a 20 minute walk to Tokyo Tower. Exploring the streets during the day is really safe and the town is bustling at night. It was a really great way for me and my husband to get a taste of renting an apartment in Japan if only for a week.
Jennifer was a great host. She owns several apartment spaces in the Tokyo area and rents them out like any business or hotel chain would. The directions she leaves and clear and helpful and she is really pleasant to communicate with. She also stocks the apartment with everything you would need were you to actually live in it, as a result, you are in need of nothing when you stay at her place besides food. Really recommend this place if the Tokyo nightlife and apartment living is something you want to experience, and even if you're just looking for a pretty spacious by Tokyo standards place to stay, give this apartment a try.
