Amy’s review is fair. She brought a group of adults to our home for a fun and relaxing stay. Our house rules are stated very clearly concerning the cleaning up after yourselves, excluding doing the laundry and remaking beds. We expect no more of our guests than we do of ourselves. The house is full of nice things and all should be pretty much left as you found it. In group settings especially this is accomplished by everyone and easily to complete in short order.
Our cleaning fee is spelled out in our house rules also, it is kept low and basically covers the laundry and remaking of the beds. (There is 10-12 loads of laundry between 8 beds, and 15 sets of bath towels, beach towels, kitchen towels. Trust me when I say this most groups and families use almost everything in the house.)
While Brandenburg is not a booming metropolis, it has its own charm. With that said it has many things that typical communities do not. Our Kroger is very large and carries most everything you could want or need. While the dining is mostly drive thru (McDonalds - Taco Bell), there are a few sit down places that try very hard (Jailhouse Pizza, Little Dave’s Roadhouse, Miguel’s, Doc’s Smoke shack BBQ and a few more).
Finer dining can be endless in Louisville which is a 45 minute drive from the house.
I personally love to cook and my kitchen is outfitted with just about everything a person needs and the view while doing so is breathtaking at times.
Some people love to stay near the lake while others love to explore our Kentucky Culture. Either way there is plenty to do and see. I provide plenty of things at the house for our guests to enjoy - kayaks, a canoe, stand up paddle board, life vests and floaties. The boat is an optional feature for people that love to be out on the water. The rental fee is for a length of stay since there is not a way of checking it in and out at a marina. It is more than reasonable priced and is offered only as an optional convenience.
