Other Things to Note
Long-time AirBNB host - if there's anything missing or anything you'd like to get a fix on, please let me know and I can make it right!
Quiet, respectful guests are welcome. There is a small and friendly Chihuahua who lives in the unit, and she is very curious and affectionate if you are into dogs.
I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate most check-in times, please do communicate with me ahead of time about your specific arrival and departure dates and we can coordinate key handoff.
Fonctionnel et simple, bien situé à Oakland, pratique pour une nuit malgré le fait que les draps semblaient avoir déjà été utilisés.
This experience was without a doubt my least favorite to date on Airbnb. The host was not very friendly, at all. He initially couldn't accommodate a check in until 8:30 pm. For that reason, we chose to have dinner with friends in the greater area. This resulted in a 11:00 pm check in.
When checking in, we were greeted with a poor attitude and rushed experience. His dog was barking at us a lot. We did not feel a warm welcoming to be in his home.
The room was very boring. It was a mattress on the floor and a table. We did not receive a friendly tour of the house, nor did we receive any smiles during our stay. After getting settled in, the air conditioner kicked on to a temperature that was not comfortable at all. It was a cold and unwelcoming greeting.
I would not recommend Kai or his apartment during your stay in Oakland.
Kai responded very quickly to my request, which was nice. He also helped my carry a bunch of bags up to his place.
The place was messier than I would have preferred and we had some miscommunication over a checkout time, which was a bit annoying.
Great location with modest accommodations. Kai was friendly and helpful. If you need a place to crash near San Francisco or in Oakland, it's a solid option.
Kai was a wonderful host and his dog is friendly and adorable. Just to be entirely clear, you are staying in a room in Kai's apartment. This was not clear to me from the description, or the reviews. It was totally cool, but others might feel differently. The room is spare and the apartment, while clean is a bit cluttered. If you're a neat freak this might be an issue for you. The location is great, close to everything in down town Oakland.
Kai let my friends and I arrive earlier than planned so we could drop off some of our stuff and not let them in the car outside while we were in San Francisco. This was nice of him because he had to clean up the room before we arrive (officialy 5pm).
But, when we arrived at 10pm after a long day in SF, Kai was not home and the room was not ready... we had to get the beds and matresses out of the closet and organize the room by ourselves...
The air matress deflated during the night and we didn't know if the sheets we used on our beds were clean or not...
The rest of our stay at Kai's was ok, we had our own bathroom and were close to the BART.
On the last day one of my friend asked Kai if she could stay until 11am because she had a plane in SF and I was leaving earlier in the morning. He said yes, but she told be after that she had to leave at 10.30am and not 11am.
Kai was a super friendly and funny, we got along with him great. He and his place were super accommodating and in very practical location, close to the railways and plenty of great food close by.
I would definitely recommend staying.
