We had a wonderful experience on Steve and Marika's boat! We loved their romantic home/boat and spent a night with our three daughters. We slept like babies and enjoyed peaceful and relaxing night and day on the boat. The only thing I regret is not booking two nights. We brought our kayak and explored the marinas and nearby houseboats neighborhood. It was a unique and wonderful experience
Steve and Marika were wonderful when meeting them and upon the introduction and overview of the yacht. It was a fantastic experience for myself and my two children. Great way to enjoy San Francisco from a distance and experience the amazing Sausalito.
My two grandchildren and I had an absolutely wonderful stay on the Ohana. Steve and Marika were perfect hosts to us. They were thorough, but not overly so, in showing us the important things we needed to know about their boat.
We were happy with the location; it was within walking distance of several good restaurants, and right next to the Bay Model, which is an interesting place to visit, and free!
They took us on a splendid sailing tour of the San Francisco Bay. The weather was perfect, and they let my grandchildren participate in sailing the boat. They loved it!
We had a very quiet, peaceful night, in cozy, comfortable beds.
Hope we can do it again sometime.
Is there anything better than waking up to French Press coffee on a sailboat - even if it’s just docked in the harbor? Possibly not. My wife and I, along with our two girls, stayed for two nights on Ohana, and I’m sure none of us will ever forget the experience. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants (Le Garage, and Fred’s were excellent), but come home to our cozy cabin and just hang out as a family playing cards at the end of the night.
Steve and Marika took us sailing at sunset on the bay, where my 10 year-old literally learned the ropes of sailing a boat. She is now very enthused to take up community boating next summer to learn more.
Ohana is not a hotel - there is no TV or wifi - but is well appointed with everything you really need. Once Steve showed us around, Ohana felt like “ours” and we imagined what it must be like to live on her for more than a few days. The gentle rocking of the boat with the tides and the stars overhead ensured we’ll definitely come back on our next trip to San Francisco!
Had the most amazing time staying on this boat. Such a great experience. I asked the day of wanted to stay and they got back to me super fast and were so welcoming even the neighbors were awesome. Definitely gonna stay again if I'm welcome!! I recommend for sure!
My familly and I had a incredible time sleeping on the boat. Everything is there; kitchen, good sleeping room and shower. Marika and Steve make it very enjoyable. We took a tour of the bay with them and the kids to see the Golden bridge, Alcatraz and Angle Island. We saw sea lions and dolphins during the trip as well. And finally I had the chance to join the crew and race in the Bay with Marika and Steve as well. Not sure everyone get that treatment but Marika and Steve make that stay unforggetable for us!
Marika was very helpful in giving a tour of the boat and showing off its features.
The boat was very nicely appointed and we found it an excellent spot for an evening of listening to music and appreciating the view and the quiet sounds of the water.
Be sure to negotiate meeting times carefully, as they are less flexible than most other AirBnB hosts in this regard.
About the Host, Steve
I am a licensed USCG captain and my wife Marika and I love to share out beautiful yacht. We have had many guests and every one of them enjoyed staying on the boat . Ohana provides a romantic, comfortable setting for some special occasions. yet she is big enough to accommodate family get togethers.
