About This Listing
Located in a desirable and walkable neighborhood. You can't get much closer to Stanford University, Caltrain (access to San Francisco, San Jose, BART transfer), and downtown Palo Alto.
Perfect location for access to the best of Silicon Valley.
My 800 square-foot condo is part of a 4-unit building in downtown Palo Alto. It's cozy, tastefully decorated, and full of light. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second has a twin size futon.
There is high speed wifi internet and a large tv with cable, including HBO. Keurig coffee maker and washer/dryer are some of the comforts of home that are available.
Clean towels will be provided and both beds will be made up with fresh linens.
My home is in an area with lots of restaurants and a few bars, but it is unusual to hear any noise from people on the street. You can sometimes hear Caltrain, but it is not bothersome and the transportation option close by is a huge benefit.
Street parking in the neighborhood is readily available in the evenings and on weekends. The detached garage is also available.
This is a second floor unit, with stairs up from the street level.
Interaction with Guests
I will likely not be around, but I am reachable by cell phone if you want any advice about the area or if you need anything at all.
There is a code lock on the door, and I will send access information in advance of arrival.
Restaurants, shopping, Stanford all within a two block walk. It doesn't get any better than this.
One of the highlights of this location is that public transportation is less than two blocks outside the door: Caltrain, Stanford Marguerite shuttle. It is easy to get to San Francisco, any of the local airports, Stanford, etc. I am happy to help.
Other Things to Note
This is one of the only homes in the area with central air conditioning. In the heat of the summer, it will make your stay much more comfortable.
Please, no smoking or pets.
All I ask is that you enjoy my home and treat it like you would if I were here. And be respectful of my neighbors.
We have had a very happy stay here. It is a great location. Perfect for us. Nice balcony to sit out on. Handy garage for bikes. Laurie was very helpful.
Clean, comfy place in a convenient location! Exactly what I needed. Laurie was easy to reach and provided timely information. Thank you!
Laurie's apartment couldn't have been better! It is conveniently located to University Avenue, and had everything I needed for my short stay and more, including a washer and dryer and parking! Laurie was quick to respond to my questions and made sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely return. Thank you, Laurie!
Laurie has a great place close to downtown Palo Alto. It was perfect for my two-week stint working out of our local office. The apartment was clean, well stocked (including fresh eggs and yogurt that she left for our use) and comfortable. Good organized kitchen accomodated cooking several meals with California fresh produce. Nice queen-size bed in master bedroom. I was able to walk to work, which was a big plus. The neighbors were quiet and friendly. Very close to train and Stanford. Would definitely consider a repeat stay in the future.
Loved it! Couldn't have asked for a better location, right next to train station and main high street. Place is made for 2, with a master bedroom with a double bed, and single room with a single bed and two-seater sofa, but there's also the living room with a single+two-seater sofa (with a great TV with TIVO + WiFi!), so there's easily room for 3. Laurie also left a great guide for the house + surrounding area, which was very useful! I'd recommend this place, I'd definitely use it again :)
Great place, great neighborhood and a very helpful host! I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Palo Alto!
Laurie was the perfect host to my mother and sister who came to stay for an extended period whilst visiting me in Palo Alto. Her apartment was clean and well stocked with every home convenience. It was a "home away from home". Its location next to the stores and restaurants on University Avenue was invaluable and meant that my mother and sister could do local shopping and dining without relying on a car. Being close to the Caltrain meant they could also make easy trips to San Francisco. Laurie was keen to ensure that their stay was as comfortable as possible and was readily available to help if they needed anything. My family really enjoyed their stay and hope to book Laurie's place again when they next visit.
