Gorgeous little house that has some flexibility of sleeping accommodation. There is a full queen size bed in the bedroom and a full size queen size sofa bed in the lounge room. It has a complete kitchen and bathroom. It has it's own entrance and driveway separate from main house in a beautiful garden setting with views across the valley. Wake up to the sound of magpies and kookaburras. With any luck you may have a visiting koala, echidna and kangaroo in the garden.
Access to swimming pool, spa and gymnasium in the main part of the garden. There is a barbeque and alfresco dining available.
Excellent cycling in the Adelaide Hills as it is part of the Tour downunder circuit. 10 minute walk to the township of Stirling and a quick car trip to the historic town of Hahndorf. Situated next to Mount Lofty Botanic Garden and surrounded by Adelaide HiIl's wineries and restaurants including Locavore and The Organic Market and Cafe. Bus stop right outside for quick 15 min trip to Adelaide CBD where you can attend all the international festivals like WOMAD, Festival of Arts, Fringe Festival and Clipsal 500. Cable TV, internet and laundrey available.
Your hosts have lots of local info to share, so thank you for considering this delightful place and if you need anything at all, please ask.
We are fun loving people and are happy if you are having fun enjoying your new surroundings. We ask that guests be mindful that we both work and therefore ask that noisy celebrations don't go too long into the night especially during the week. We are happy for guests to use the spa but ask for prior notice of use and ask that guests leave spa by 11pm. No smoking inside please.
Penny and Simon made us more than welcome and the property was everything we expected and more. The pool has relocated from the photographed depiction but the weather did not permit use of the new pool location.
It was great staying at Penny and Simon's Garden apartment. They were very welcoming. They were very helpful, friendly and it was great to talk to them.
Penny has a wonderful house in Adelaide Hills, which is hilly, clean, cosy and very quiet but all the same very close to the shops and is about 20 mins drive to the CBD.
We had bread, milk, eggs and other essentials ready before we came, which was really helpful. We got some fresh vegetables from the garden which was a treat.
We had to go away for the whole day leaving my mother, who can't speak English along with our 14 month old son. Penny communicated and helped my mother to make sure they felt secure for the whole day.
Thank you Penny and Simon for having us.
Penny made us feel so welcome, providing milk, eggs and some delicious bread. The place is lovely and comfortable and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention the pool!
We had a great time staying at Penny & Simon's Garden apartment. The apartment is very comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. The garden is lovely and we really enjoyed the autumn colours in the trees which we could see from the living room window. The apartment is very private and we could have been staying on the property by ourselves. Crafers is extremely convenient for exploring the Adelaide Hills and only 15mins from the city centre so getting to most of the places we wanted to visit was just a short journey. Overall it made for a great holiday and we would recommend it to everyone.
I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay in the Adelaide Hills. Everything was just as described or even better. The garden and the area around are just beautiful. The apartment was really clean and really comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Penny and Simon were very friendly and helpful hosts. The communication was excellent.
Great spot up in the hills and close to the lovely village of Stirling. The hosts were very welcoming even readying the swimming pool for us for a cooling dip after an action packed
day. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a more rural and different take on the city break.
Beautiful "granny annexe" next door to Penny & Simon's house, but with separate driveway and outdoor eating area with gorgeous views across the Adelaide Hills. Overlooking their lovely terraced garden with heated swimming pool at the bottom (big enough to do some lap swimming) and an outdoor spa pool. Penny & Simon were friendly and helpful hosts without being intrusive and provided some basic provisions (including homemade apricot jam!) which is useful if you don't want to head to the shops immediately. We both had the best nights sleep we've had in a long time... mine was on the exceptionally comfortable sofa bed!
On the side of Mount Lofty, wIthin walking distance of the lovely village of Sterling and only a short drive from Hahndorf, this is a beautiful location especially in hot weather where you'll benefit from the temperatures being around 5 degrees cooler than in the city.
I shall certainly be back... hopefully for a longer stay next time!
I am a happy traveller and started at a young age. My husband and I love a change of scenery to change our perspective on life. We are very happy meeting new people and swapping stories.
We are still working but itching for the day when we can have a bit more time to indulge our passion which is not too far away now. I work as a nurse, part-time and we have a small business which we both work in the rest of the time.
