About this listing
Luxury apt. on 11th floor of doorman building. many windows facing 3 directions including bay windows. Quiet apartment in most central part of Philadelphia.
This is a large and beautiful apartment, hardwood floors, 900 square feet (about 85 Square meters), located in a luxury doorman building, on the 11th floor, Washington Square West, Philadelphia. This is the most central and what I believe the best neighborhood in Philadelphia. It is in a walking distance from all major attractions.
The neighborhood itself is famous for a huge amount of bars, restaurants (some of the best in the city), cafes etc. All literally downstairs.
To the east- the old city, including the Independence Hall and its encompassing Independence National Historical Park, Elfreth's Alley, the Betsy Ross House, and many of Philadelphia's other historic sites.
Also to the east, Society hill, which has the largest concentration of original 18th- and early 19th-century residential architecture of any place in the United States.
To the north, Chinatown, an amazing vibrant neighborhood, and also my favorite attraction in Philly- which is the Reading Terminal Market- do not miss!
To the south, 2 minutes walk to the famous South street, with all of it's bars and restaurants. Also- the italian neighborhood (Passyunk Square) and the beautiful queens village.
And to the west- the famous and beautiful area of Rittenhouse square.
Really excellent location!
Also- it is 1 minute walk (!) from the Kimmel center, Philadelphia orchestra, the main theaters on Broad street (AKA the Avenue of the Arts), also home to art galleries, the Academy of Music.
Walking distance everywhere. Also - if you prefer you can bike in minutes to any part of town.
Lots of public transportation minutes away:
1. SEPTA buses 30 seconds walking from apartment (lines (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), BSO, BSS)
2. PATCO train 20 seconds walk from the apartment
3. one minute walk to the Broadway subway, which connects you in turn to every other subway and train line in the city (including amtrak).
The apartment itself: Large, as I wrote above. Has a Huge bedroom with a $3,800 phenomenal Kin Size bed, which I just bought last year. It is probably the most comfortable bed that you have ever slept on. It is called the TempurPedic Raphsody. You can read about it here- (URL HIDDEN)
This bed, on it's own, can turn your vacation into paradise- seriously.
The apartment is full of light and has many huge windows- facing south (you can see the whole city including the river and all stadiums in the distance), north (including downtown buildings and the famous William Penn bronze statue on city hall) and west- marvelous sunsets.
Since the main bay windows are facing South east, south and south west, there is direct sun exposure EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY.
The living room is very large, and has as part of the furniture a futon sofa which opens to a full size bed.
The kitchen is also very large and modern- equipped with a dishwasher, micro, fridge, electric stove, garbage disposer etc.
The building is a 14th story luxury building, doorman 24 hours, washer and dryer in the basement, and is extremely safe. Some of the best restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. are 1-2 minutes walking distance.
The apartment, the bed, the view, the building, the location, will make your vacation or stay in Philadelphia unforgettable.
Overview of the living room (the kitchen is on the right). Notice the 3 large bay windows facing south, south-east and south-west, plus one large window of western exposure
