First things first--the house is secluded--down a bumpy lane, past pastures, more pastures, and then you see it. Perched up high, built into the landscape, a house that is a work of art. Views the likes of which I've never seen--looking out over the lake, surrounded by green fields, sheep dotting the landscape, the fading light in the evenings unbelievable. The funny thing is, the house isn't even finished yet. The upstairs was off limits and locked up as it it under construction. No bother, as the four of us had plenty of room. The interior was lovely and relaxed. A family vibe w/ lots of toys and cosy corners in an open floor plan. The town was a curvy but not long drive--20 minutes? Quite posh, with lots of restaurants, shops, beautiful homes. A great spot for exploring Galway or a great spot for reading lots of books and staring at the sky.

Very beautiful area. We had a small issue with the cleanliness but handled that when we arrived. Two days I would say is plenty, three was a little much for being so secluded with only a handful of channels on the tv and nothing to play in the DVD player! Perfect for relaxing.

What a beautiful location and view!!! On your way to the house try to stop and pick-up some provisions before you arrive. The nearest store is a bit of a drive and you won't want to leave once you get there. You will be too busy trying to take it all in!

We had another wonderful stay at Carol's place!

This is a large home in Connemara well suited for families or couples traveling together. Spacious, clean and secluded. If you want to get away from it all, this is a winner!

I was born in Galway and have been living in England for the last fourteen years. I still long to return to Ireland but until that day arrives I am sharing my home so that others can enjoy it!
