With respect to the house, us and the neighbours.
Glebe Emporium a great place to stay in Hobart. Comfortable bed, hot shower, cosy couches, well stocked cupboards, helpful host. No complaints, most relaxing and felt easily at home. Easy walking distance to centre. Highly recommended.
What a delightful home with stunning views. Freya was very friendly, welcoming and informative about what to see and do around Hobart. Freya kindly picked us up from the airport for a small fee and was happy to drive us around the CBD on the way to her lovely home.
The home is very comfortable, cosy and perfect for a quiet getaway.
Will be highly recommending to all friends!
Freya made us feel very at home with a warm welcome and a generous offer to pick us up from the airport for a small charge for petrol.
The apartment was even prettier than it looked online. It was a warm, cosy, lovely place to come to after exploring Hobart and the surrounds. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The apartment has everything you could need, and so much more. The position is fantastic - just a 10 minute walk from the waterfront, and so close to the Botanical Gardens and the acquatic centre. Freya and Graham are great hosts.
Freya was such a delightful host - being welcomed to a warm heated house arriving into chilly Hobart on a night flight was a perfect start to our Easter holiday. She greeted us like we were at home and was very knowledgeable about Hobart, recommending us the best detours and must-see places, as well as places in Launceston (which was the best part in Launceston I must add!) Basically has a small tourism office with a library of brochures to browse through and a map of Tasmania to plan your trip. She showed us around the house, which is very clean, comfy and close to central Hobart, made sure we knew how to keep ourselves warm and her motherly touch - the little things like turning on the towel heating, leaving us bread, jam and eggs for breakfast, looking up places open on a Good Friday to help us plan the public holiday day and even reminded us to put our clocks back for daylight savings! Absolutely no complaints and will definitely stay again. This was my first experience booking through Airbnb and she was just fantastic. Highly recommended to anyone travelling to Hobart. Thanks Freya :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glebe Emporium in Hobart.
The apartment was a former general store serving the Glebe area of Hobart way back in the 1920s. Consequently it has retained its picturesque, street facing double frontage. The interior is tastefully decorated and well furnished to make for a comfortable stay. Basic foods were provided, a thoughtful touch, especially if arriving late or on a Sunday when getting provisions can be a little challenging.
Glebe Emporium is well located for Hobart CBD (15 minute walk) and the waterfront (20 minute walk). The piers here can be used for various day trips (including the impressive Museum for Old And Modern Art). The apartment has a huge collection of information pamphlets with information of these and other local attractions. The famous Salamanca Market is within comfortable walking distance. The local eateries at the North end of Elizabeth Street are also within easy reach. We had a great Indian meal at Mother of India. If you’re driving then there’s all-day parking available just across the road.
Freya was a great host. She contacted us well before we arrived to organise key collection and offered advice for our road trip down to Hobart. She came to see us once we settled in and gave us loads of useful information on the city and surroundings. She left us with a comprehensive manual for the apartment and although unnecessary during our stay, she was easy to contact if need be.
The only downside to our stay in Hobart was that we had to leave! Too little time to fully appreciate the city. When we return we will definitely request to stay at Glebe Emporium again. Thanks Freya!
Freya was extremely accommodating for an extra $10 she picked us up from the airport, took us for a a little tour of the town on the way home and had a tonne of information for us at the property for us to explore what hobart has to offer.
The Home is beautifully decorated and within walking distance to basically everything! Freya even had bread and Jam there for us for breakfast.
I would most definitely reccomend my friends and family stay here whilst they're in Hobart
