About this listing
Water, water, everywhere! This totally secluded vacation rental is surrounded by beautiful fresh Catskills water. A former 25-acre trout hatchery and private park, this home sits on a nice pond with a waterfall into the confluence of two creeks. The sound of running water will keep you company by day and lull you to sleep at night. The 3-level house is well designed for vacationers, with separate bedrooms, bathrooms and porches on different floors. There are 3 bedrooms plus a sleeping alcove, 3 full baths, 2 living rooms, 2 porches, and 2 kitchens. The main kitchen overlooks the pond, as does a sunny deck and pleasant patio. Porches overlook the streams and make great reading spots. DVD player and wireless internet. Swimming holes abound! Five minutes to Liberty, the farmers market and Route 17, 15 minutes to Catskill Park.
The winter is a gorgeous time to stay at my home and Holiday Mountain skiing is only 15 minutes away. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the downstairs suite and central heating throughout. Sitting at the kitchen table looking at the pond, perhaps seeing the muskrats play and the deer passing by is a winter treat.
I'm happy to answer your questions and figure out how to make your visit a delightful retreat.
Everything was perfect and just as magical as our first stay 3 weeks ago ( see my first review below). This time we were able to try a few more local restaurants Yiasou and Rolling River Cafe, both very pleasant. My friend who came with me loves birds and spotted a good variety of species in the woods surrounding the lake. Sabrina is an excellent host and highly recommend her place!
Where do I even begin??? I can go on and on and on about all the wonderful things we experienced during our stay in Sabrina's truly special and magical home. From the first time we made contact inquiring about the house until the very end when we sadly had to leave this 'little piece of heaven' Sabrina was a complete joy to communicate with. She was attentive, warm, inviting and just plain sweet. We felt like we knew her and continued to feel so very connected to her throughout our stay eventhough we never actually met. All our communication was by text/email and all our questions were answered promptly, clearly and warmly. The house has incredible energy and you can tell that it receives a lot of TLC by the owner and past guests.
The home is decorated in a funky vintage rustic ethnic style that we loved. And being three women of color, we very much loved and appreciated all the Native American and African art. Sabrina has great taste and her attention to details is very much reflected in what she chooses to display in her home.
The surrounding water, and especially the waterfall, was truly the highlight of our stay. It is such an incredibly unique experience to hear the sound of water all day long - from the moment you wake up, during your meals, until you go to bed - it's really a wonderful part of this house and we still can't believe that we were soooooo lucky to stay here.
The house was super clean, fully stocked with toilet paper and towel paper, laundry detergent, any kind of kitchen appliance you could want, great quality sheets/comforters/blankets in all the bedrooms and super comfortable furniture throughout the house.
The house is and feels very secluded which we loved but at the same time you are only five minutes from town where you will find anything you need such as gas stations, 24 hour Shoprite, liquor store, auto repair shops and an awesome Korean grocery store! We really loved that combination and appreciated being able to connect with civilization whenever we wanted to, although truth be told, you really don't want to leave the house, it's that amazing!
If you get the opportunity to stay in this amazing house condsider yourself to be very, very, very lucky! It's truly a gem and Sabrina is a terrific host, on so many levels. We will definitely be back again and again!!
Sabrina was a great host and the house was truly "magical". Nested in a forest by a lake, and surrounded by the sounds of a waterfall, the experience is so tranquil and relaxing. Sabrina stocks the house well with all necessities, and kindly accommodated a few special requests. The layout of the very spacious house is great for families and friends, with 3 separate living spaces inside as well as 2 balconies. The house is filled with beautiful art and so tastefully designed. It was such a joy to stay there, will be going back again soon!
Sabrina was an excellent host. She provided us with terrific information about the area and was very quick to get back to me via text and email. The house is eclectic and comfortable! It was clean, the kitchen was very functional and there were more than enough bathrooms. There is plenty of space to spread out both inside and outside the house. Great stay!
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the house is, or how wonderful the weekend that we spent there was.
Isolated from civilization, next to a lake, a fun house with lots of things to do and feel like you're really away from everything.
We will definitely come back, words don't do this house justice! Sabrina's house really is magical, especially for visitors that know how to make the most of the trip.
Sabrina was a great host. She was very responsive and welcoming. Her home is on a gorgeous piece of property and having my morning coffee with the view from her back deck could not be beat! It is a very quiet and calm environment, so a good choice for those who want to get away from it all.
Sabrina's house has a warm and rustic vibe to it. Our favorite thing to do was to sit out on the deck overlooking her pond with a cold beer. It's secluded but close enough to shops and a few restaurants. Nice walking tracks around there as well.
