Water, water, everywhere! This totally secluded vacation rental is surrounded by beautiful fresh Catskills water. A former 25-acre trout hatchery and private park, this home sits on a nice pond with a waterfall into the confluence of two creeks. The sound of running water will keep you company by day and lull you to sleep at night. The 3-level house is well designed for vacationers, with separate bedrooms, bathrooms and porches on different floors. There are 3 bedrooms plus a sleeping alcove, 3 full baths, 2 living rooms, 2 porches, and 2 kitchens. The main kitchen overlooks the pond, as does a sunny deck and pleasant patio. Porches overlook the streams and make great reading spots. DVD player and wireless internet. Swimming holes abound! Five minutes to Liberty, the farmers market and Route 17, 15 minutes to Catskill Park.
The winter is a gorgeous time to stay at my home and Holiday Mountain skiing is only 15 minutes away. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the downstairs suite and central heating throughout. Sitting at the kitchen table looking at the pond, perhaps seeing the muskrats play and the deer passing by is a winter treat.
I'm happy to answer your questions and figure out how to make your visit a delightful retreat.
Sabrina's winter wonder Catskill retreat was a perfect getaway place for our family. A clean, quiet and magical house! Thank you for your hospitality! We will certainly return!
Sabrina's home truly is magical. My boyfriend and I had such a lovely stay in this picturesque home. I highly highly recommend staying here as you get a real escape without being too far away from everything. I can't say enough nice things. Will return :) Thank you Sabrina!
Another fabulous stay at Sabrina's magical home! Thank you so much!
This was my second stay at Sabrina's lovely home. I had a great experience in the fall of 2012 and had been looking forward to visiting again, so I made a reservation for Thanksgiving weekend. The place was just as magical in the snow as it was in autumn, and as cozy as ever. Sabrina is the poster-woman for great airbnb hosts. They ought to consider handing out awards!
Looking forward to staying again in spring and summer!
Another fantastic stay in a magical location with water surrounding the wonderful house in all directions.
Will return again to make it a 4th trip, everywhere else seems bland after this!
We had a wonderful time at Sabrina's house. The house was nestled in the trees and although it was not far from the road, had a lovely tranquility. The house was charming and clean. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was plenty to do and see in the neighboring towns. We took off one star because the dryer wasn't working properly and while it didn't effect our stay too much, it might if you had children and needed to wash your clothes. Otherwise, it was a total delight.
Another incredible stay in what can only be described as one of the most magical places on earth.
I loved every second of my stay here, it's a wonderful house in a simply incredible location surrounded by water on all sides. If you want a retreat type feel with vast amounts of space to enjoy, and a real sense of seclusion, I can't imagine a better place to stay.
Visit Details: 3 nights (Labour Day 2013)
Size of Party: 2 couples and a dog
A property unlike any other we have visited! An enchanted forest, two gurgling creeks, a large pond, a waterfall -- a truly magical spot. Our puppy loved exploring the woods and frolicking in the water. It rained a bit during our stay, which turned out to be a delight as it engulfed the creeks and turned the waterfall from a trickle to a torrent.
It's worth mentioning that the kitchen had been well loved by previous visitors, with its fridge and cupboards both quite full upon our arrival, leaving little room for our own groceries. But don't let that stop you from visiting nearby Catskill Harvest Market to stock up on all sorts of foods, including fresh bread!
We were five old friends looking for a place to relax and get together, and this proved to be the perfect setting. Sabrina's house is off by itself, quiet and isolated but still easily accessible to the town of Liberty and environs. She was enormously helpful in identifying local stores and sites as well as forwarding on to us announcements of special festivals and activities in the area.
Sabrina's home was a delightful weekend retreat for our group of five. The house itself is beautiful, with lots of light, and views out to the forest, streams and a small waterfall. The layout allows for privacy while also providing many spaces for communal hanging-out. We especially loved the airy kitchen and dining area, which opens out to the deck and pond - wonderful spaces to spend the morning reading and chatting, or to watch the stars at night. There is also another deck by the stream, shaded by the hemlock trees, which was nice when the days got warmer. A lovely sanctuary away from the city.
