Please do yourself a favor and stay at the mountain retreat! My fiancé and I stayed there for 4 days and we didn't want to leave! Ingrid and Robert went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we could even think of covered. They were the sweetest couple ever! I feel like they are now family! We could've spent hours just sitting on their porch and talking. This was our favorite vacation ever and everything exceeded our expectations! The location, cleanliness, and charm of the cabin are fantastic, pictures just don't do it justice! The hot tub was amazing after long hike days! It feels like we have a new home in Colorado Springs. We are already planning our next visit and we haven't even gotten home yet! :)
Ingrid and Robert are wonderful hosts! We enjoyed our time at Mountain Retreat from the homemade ice cream, to the hot tub, to the wine and more! Everything was exceptional and made our first Airbnb visit wonderful! We can't wait to come back again!
My family had the best time during our stay at Mountain Retreat. Ingrid and Robert were the perfect hosts from the very beginning. Mountain Retreat is a private place to stay that the hosts have very thoughtfully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Eggs, butter, milk and coffee to fresh fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, the pantry was well stocked. We spent a number of nights in, cooking for ourselves in the kitchen.
Being above a detached building meant for terrific privacy. At the same time our hosts were kind enough to have us over for dessert and indulge Riley's (our 4 yo daughter) many requests to play with Mozart and Molly. We truly felt that were visiting the best of distant cousins. Hear me out...They are family so they treat you very well and are interested enough in you to have some nice conversation, but they are not so familiar as to ask what Aunt Helen was thinking when she wore that to Patty's funeral. Don't get me started.
Anyhow, this is a wonderful place to stay with an incredible number of activities within driving distance. There is Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds was fun, even Denver was an easy drive for a day trip to the Denver Art Museum. This location afforded us a beautiful place to stay that was easy to drive in and out of for our daily excursions.
My family and I can't wait to return and see the garden in full bloom. Thanks Ingrid and Robert. We had a really good time.
This was a wonderful experience, this couple doesn't just treat you like guests they treat you like family. From the time we got there to the time we left we had family members right next to us that were ready to hang out and show us around at a moments notice, from grocery shopping to renting a car , dinner and even watching a movie they were there all the time. An absolute delight, I would definitely come back to stay with them. Warm, clean, and hospitable. I highly recommend this experience to those that want privacy sometimes and other times to have someone to hang out with. They can make it any way you want it. Super sweet I wish I lived close to them just to hang out. We cooked we talked life and we even threw snow. Love them.
Ingrid and Robert were wonder host. They made us feel welcomed the whole time we were there. Their house is just like the pictures, perfect and cozy. They had a bottle of wine waiting for us as we walked in and Robert makes the best ice cream I've ever tasted. We will definitely be coming back to stay with them.
Fantastic vacation in Colorado. Much of it to do with the warm hospitality of the host. Not only was the accommodations clean and well presented, the subtle touches were a delight. I enjoyed relaxing at the house as much as touring Colorado.
This was hands down one of the best vacations iv ever experienced Ingrid and Robert go out of there way to make sure that you are having the best time they can(the bottle of wine helped) but they don't miss a detail from the towel warmers to stocking the fridge full for their guests. Everything was better than we expected seeing how this was our first airbnb experience. The place was beyond comfortable, by the end of the weekend I didn't want to leave!
I have lived in the USA for 37 years, having been born and reared in Germany. My husband, Robert, is a retired lawyer. The two of us live in the main house on the premises. I have been a sports parachutist, airplane pilot, skier, skater and competitive ballroom dancer. We love to go to the opera & symphony. I tend my flower and vegetable gardens while Robert tends to the yard and serves as webmaster for a couple of organizations.
