These stylish new, award-winning, loft condos are located in the heart of the most desirable neighborhood in downtown San Diego - East Village. A very quick walk to the convention center, Petco Park, Gaslamp district, library and harbor. Almost every guest walks in and says "wow" when they walk in.
I'm confident you'll be more than satisfied with your experience and incredible value. This is a very fashionable condo, styled in authentic mid-century modern furniture. Most guests say it looks even better than the pics.
Includes coffee, cable TV, Showtime, HBO, Co-Working space (see below), High speed internet, WIFI, and more (see amenities)
Prefer guests with 100% positive reviews. If you are new to airbnb I will consider only those who have taken the time to fill out a profile page, including a photograph. Tip to newbies - this is VERY important, since hosts are letting people into their homes whom they've never met. Help us to feel confident that you're responsible, professional, courteous, etc. A well thought out profile page can help with this. References are also important if you have no reviews yet.
There is some construction across the street on weekdays, but it's not in the super noisy phase. Sometimes you hear them in the morning, and sometimes you don't. While the sliding glass door and windows are very good at blocking noise, you MIGHT still hear some clanking at 7 AM. Please don't ding my rating for this. I'll let you know again when we contact each other.
It's important to communicate with me when you plan to arrive. There is no good place to put the key and garage remote, since it's a condo. When we meet I'll also give you clear instructions on entering the garage. There are a few buttons on the remote, which can be a little confusing by written instructions. I can meet anytime after 12:00 pm. If you plan to arrive before this we'll make other arrangements.
You'll have access to the garage and have one parking space. You'd pay an extra 20 bucks per night at a hotel for this. When you arrive I'll have meet me in the front of the condo, where I'll direct you to the garage.
Interaction with Guests
You can call me anytime you'd like. I'm happy to give you some suggestions for restaurants, introduce you to my members at 3rdSpace, and give you suggestions of where to go hang out, drink, etc. Love meeting new people and introducing them to my amazing city!
About the neighborhood. East Village is the most desirable place to be in downtown. Well, at least it's the highest in demand. It's where the newest and trendiest condos are, the new groundbreaking NINE floor public library is (2 minute walk from condo). It's also home of Padres, FIT Athletic (very cool gym), and contiguous to the famous Gaslamp district. You're only a 10 minute walk to the Harbor and Convention Center, and a 10 minute drive to the zoo/balboa park!
Getting around: This place is only one block from a trolly station! That'll get you just about anywhere you want to go.
Other Things to Note
Need a coworking space to work while you're visiting San Diego? I own a private "club for the creative" in University Heights for creative professionals. It's called 3rdSpace and you can find it on a web search. Very cool place to bring your laptop and work for the day. I'll give you free access if you're my guest! Great way to meet some locals, too!
I want you to make yourself at home, assuming, of course, that you take VERY good care of your home. I don't allow smoking, even on the "Juliette balcony." No exceptions to this; the smoke smell WILL remain if you smoke at the glass door.
PLEASE be respectful of the residents in the building. This means keeping your voices very low in the common areas of the building (hallway) if you're coming back late (after 11PM).
Please - no eating on the couch. There's a great bar height table with two stools. Plenty good view of the TV.
If you drink while sitting on the couch, well.... you know. Just be extra extra careful. It's recently upholstered.
USE COASTERS. Like Larry David asked, "Do you respect wood?" I provided coasters so you can respect the wood. Please use them!
IF you happen to spill onto the couch and rug, I provide some stain remover under the sink.
Everything was as described, great apartment and Peter was extremely helpful, loved the neighborhood as well.
Painless first airbnb experience, everything went well. The place is walking distance to everything and I have zero complaints. Much better than a hotel in the area, in my opinion.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and it turned out to be everything we hoped it would be. Peter was an excellent host, meeting us upon arrival, walking us through the building security/ parking procedures. He gave us restaurant tips and was responsive when we had questions throughout our stay.
The condo is roomy with an open floor plan, modern furniture and above all is squeaky clean. Located perfectly in the trendy East Village bordering on the Gas Lamp district in the midst of restuarants, bars, cafés, grocery stores and transportation. It's even proximate to attractions like SeaPort Village and the US Midway. We ditched the car and chose to walk everywhere. I'm in San Diego at least once a year and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend the host and this condo.
Communication with Peter was easy. Loft is as pictured. Surprisingly quiet given the construction across the street. East Village has changed quite a bit and for the better since I lived in San Diego a few years ago.
One thing to note, the light fixture above the kitchen is broken. If you like to make a late night snack, it might be a bit dim.
Peter is first class all the way. He was in touch after I made the reservation and as I made my way across the country. He met me when I arrived and walked me through the security. He was available when I needed him and knew the city well.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peter's condo. Its location allowed us to easily walk to the convention centre and downtown's core. The condo itself was very clean with a simple modern decor and all the amenities we needed for our week in San Diego.
It was my sister's first Airbnb experience and Peter was the perfect host. He's friendly, interesting and innovative. Communicating with him about anything we needed was not an issue. Talking to him about some of his endeavours are inspiring. A great ambassador for San Diego and Airbnb. His condo is now my top choice for my San Diego stays.
I had a fantastic experience at Peter's condo! The location is amazing and the condo itself is great. I will definitely stay there again when I visit San Diego in the future.
I'm an entrepreneur and investor in San Diego, CA. I own several homes and will be starting with my downtown condo on Airbnb to try the vacation rental market
