Interaction with Guests
Someone on staff will be on site between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM to open the gate, give you your keys, show you how everything works and give a few recommendations for places to eat or things to do and see. We usually have someone on staff during the day to help out, but we do not have a formal reception or concierge to assist with tours, transportation and bookings. Once you have your keys you are on your own to come and go as you please.

I don't know where to start. We loved this place! Super clean, minimalist, and just pure design goodness. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the owner, Stu, is such a rad guy! The Drift is in such a fantastic spot, walking distance to everything you need, including some of the best tacos around! The pool and firepit were a huge hit with us, so nice to chill around in the evenings, and the communal kitchen is great! The way the whole place is designed is incredible with such an eye for detail. We'll be back just as soon as we can! This is the raddest place we've ever stayed. Anyone that's heading to Cabo should make it their priority!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Drift. It's in a perfect location where you can walk around the neighborhood to explore with no problem. Lots of great restaurants and galleries nearby. The place was clean and cozy. We loved it, and would recommend it to anyone!
Thanks again for the hospitality and advice on what to do. Definitely a better place to stay than a big hotel.
The Drift was a piece of paradise! a beautiful retreat in the cute and quaint village of San Jose.
My partner and i stayed here for two nights as we planned to spend three but missed our flights to Mexico. We ended up arriving way after check in time and Stu and his staff, treated us so well considering we arrived at some ridiculous hour.
Can't thank them enough for the kindness and for being so flexible and understanding.
The set up of the Drift is awesome, great interiors a perfect plunge pool, big comfy beds with good quality linens and so many quirks and designs elements that we have both taken down as inspiration.
And a token pooch, Clara a real sweetie.
The drift has wonderful staff, a great communal kitchen that treats you to fresh squeezed orange juice and brewed coffee in the mornings, a hand drawn map of San Jose's hot spots (lolita's a must for breakfast)
and the best part cold beers in the fridge in exchange for an honesty system.
Great set up.
Can't wait to stay again

Drift was an awesome place to stay in San Jose! I typically visit Cabo San Lucas but Drift totally won us over. From awesome restaurants (literally next door), to the vibe of the complex everything was super cool.
This is not your typical Mexican resort. If you are looking for a little bit of adventure with a local vibe to really get into the San Jose lifestyle then Drift is the place!
Thanks to the whole staff who made us feel welcome and helped make our trip perfect!
My wife and I went for a relaxing vacation to San Jose del Cabo, and we had a great experience at Drift. The staff was incredibly helpful. The facilities were exactly as described and very clean. Hotel is designed well to offer the ability for guest to interact while having your own privacy. Owner was helpful with providing suggestions. Would attempt to get an upstairs room because it allows you to keep the window open while you're gone so the room cools off by the time you return. Overall would recommend to my family and friends.
This place is a gem of a find. It's not really well known by the locals, so it's a little off the map, but at the same time a very central location in San Jose. Many restaurants and great shopping are located within a couple minute walk. The place itself is simple and very comfortable, but also classy. It's great to hang out at the pool, or the fire, the rooms are perfectly sized, and the kitchen is big and accommodating for all of the guests, plus a great way to meet the other awesome people that this place attracts. The hosts are very warm, easy going and also very helpful. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who visits this town, and would surely stay here again if the opportunity arose.
