About this listing
A spacious, private room and bath, upstairs and separate from the homeowner (me). The AirBnB room can accommodate two adults comfortably. If you want to bring a child, please initiate a dialogue with me prior to booking. The house is in a wooded area walking distance to the C&O Canal towpath. driving distance to DC, downtown Bethesda as well as Virginia.
The bedroom is large and spacious with a view to the woods. It is on the second floor up one flight of stairs off the front hall. You will have exclusive access to the en suite bathroom which has a tub and shower and double sinks. The queen-sized bed is new with high quality 100 percent cotton linens. There is a new HDTV in the bedroom, with cable, Netflix and Amazon Prime and wifi internet access. There is a loveseat in the room so you can enjoy watching TV from there or in bed. Two people would be comfortable in the room. There is ample closet space. My bedroom and bath are on the opposite end of the house. If there are children in your party, please start a dialogue with me so we can determine if this is a suitable place for them to stay. If children accompany you, they must be supervised at all times, particularly when outdoors, whether in or out of the pool.
Guests have keypad access to the home, and may use the kitchen for light cooking with their own food in coordination with the host. Guests may use the swimming pool (unheated) at their own risk. In coordination with the host, longer term guests may use the washer and dryer. Guests may not use the family room or TV on the main floor.
I find that most people who stay here are independent and have their own lives and activities. I give guests privacy and do not enter their room unless requested or if maintenance is required. I am out and about most days but am reachable via cellphone, text or email.
My neighborhood is in a beautiful, peaceful and private wooded area, walking distance to the C&O Canal towpath and the Potomac River. I'm 20 miles from Dulles Airport, 40 miles from BWI and about 15 miles from Reagan National. There is a small grocery store and several good restaurants one mile from my house.
You will need a car. There is plenty of on-street parking and you must park on the street.
I have one cat who is very quiet. He's friendly but will not bother guests.

I am retired but stay very busy hiking, biking, kayaking and traveling. Having lived in the Washington area for many years, I continue to enjoy its beauty and access to culture, art, theater, as well as biking and hiking trails. I have two grandchildren-- in Montana and Indiana--and visit them several times a year, often staying at an AirBnB. I recently built a duplex in Montana which has an apartment available through AirBnB. I enjoy cooking but there are so many good places to eat around here (including some within walking distance), I often go out with friends.
