The house was in a great location with an awesome view. Everything was provided for us to have a great stay. Thanks!
The house was even nicer than we had expected and we had had high hopes. What a location! Sunsets were amazing. The northern part of Cape Breton is not to be missed and while you are there head to Meat Cove.
In the village there are food huts and a coop so you can get some supplies and enjoy your location without even getting in your car again.
The hosts have information on trails nearby and all the things you need for your stay.
The little birds that visit the gull-proof feeder are so beautiful too!
Stay here! You will love it.
What a cozy house at what feels like the edge of the world! St. Margaret Village is lovely- green & lush, with boats going in and out of the harbor and this house sits up on a hill with a great view of the water. Helen was so gracious and welcoming- we ended up with an extra person and she was very accomodating. We had a total of 5 and the house was fine. Great wifi, nice outdoor picnic table- get lobster & crab rolls with a side of poutine from "The Hut" and eat al fresco! The drive to Meat Cove is about 20' and you can walk on the beach and take a (chilly) dip!
We met Helen as we checked in and immediately were made to feel at home. The house was spacious, well stocked and comfortable, and full of history and family stories. The kitchen was very well stocked for any type of meal preparation. We were able to join Oshan's (short walk down the hill) for a late afternoon whale watching tour-and saw numerous Minke whales feeding, and a few seals. We loved hearing Helen's family stories of being raised in the area, and were sad to miss meeting Andre...we would love to have spent more than one night...will have to stay for longer next time! The bed situation...one queen, one wide twin/narrow double and one twin.
Andre was a warm and welcoming host. The house was exactly as described--clean, well-maintained with a '70's feel to it. The view from the backyard, however, was the best! We were lucky enough to be there for Canada Day--so we enjoyed lobsters bought down on the wharf for dinner and fireworks later that night while sitting in the backyard. We would definitely return!
A very clean and quaint house in the cape breton island. Fair price and all equipments provided.
I didn't have the chance to meet Andre but we did speak on the phone. A very conscientious host! We had a more than cozy home for 2 people with a view on the Bay. Very glad we took a detour to see Bay St Lawrence at the northern edge of Cape Breton.
