Our stay at Andre's house was brilliant!! The house is lovely and has everything you need for cooking and entertaining! :) We loved every second of our stay there. Thanks again.
Although we arrived in the evening and left early next morning, we were very happy with how well presented the house was. It was spotless, had a lovely homely feel and we felt very much at home. Andre's communication was excellent and we only wish we could have stayed longer. It was lovely to meet you Andre. Our thanks to you and Helen!
Quiet, remote and rustic home that was great to get away from hustle of modern towns/cities . ( but they have sat TV and wifi ). Andre had hiking instructions and maps for nearby spots and we went whale watching on Oshan (about 200 yards from us). Andre stopped by to check in with us and had a great conversation that provided lots of background for the area and people. The home was clean and warm with all the usual amenities . Also a small bonus for pet lovers, the house down the hill has a small, calm/chill black dog that walked with us as we explored the harbour and surroundings. Also has nearby coop for groceries. Would totally recommend for folks who want to get away from it all.
Helen made the stay super easy.
If you are looking a for a rustic cabin on the northern Cap. This is the place. It is still furnished with their parents belongings which gives you a real feel for what Cape Breton life may have been like years ago.
If you're looking for Hotel like accommodations, this is not for you. But if you're looking for a clean rustic cabin with views of the bay and stars so huge you can see the milky way... check this place out.
We stayed at Andre's while we were traveling the Cabot Trail. It is well located if you want to see the northern tip of Cape Breton or are visiting Meat Cove. The house has wifi when we had no cell reception.
Andre was a friendly and accommodating host. He provided informative tips on where to eat and where to go. Would recommend staying at Andre's for anyone visiting the Cabot Trail.
After travelling all day, we were very relieved to find our accommodations very welcoming and cozy. Although our stay was only one night, we enjoyed this quaint little house immensely and would have loved to stay longer. Andre and Helen make every effort to make sure their guests are well taken care of. You immediately feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.
Andre's hospitality and his house were wonderful. The house looked just like the photos, and was immaculate. Communication was always good. We had planned to spend more time in the National Park, but we found plenty to do around Bay St. Lawrence. I was glad that we spent a full week at Andre's house so that we had a chance to explore. Hiking trails and some lovely private beaches aren't marked, but we always found friendly local folks who could help. Very nice that they were willing to share their secrets!
We stayed at the house 4 nights, the first days of August. It was such a great vacation, the place is so beautiful and we had very good weather. The house was very clean and comfy. Helen was a great hostess, she make sure we have everything we need. I really want to come back and stay for at least a whole week this time. Thank you Helen and Andre for sharing with us such a nice place!
Very nice house with a very nice view on the bay! The accommodations were absolutely clean, spacious and very welcoming. The perfect "pied-à-terre" after a day spent hiking in the Cape Breton National Park. Thanks André!
