Kelburn House is Wellington's superior luxury home on AirBnB. In 2012 it was the 4th most expensive house to sell in Wellington city. It was built in 1906 for Mr. Heslop a surgeon (we believe) for $1200. It's character, location and complete modernising will make your stay feel like home. It is 5 minutes to the central CBD by cable car or 15 minutes walk down. **If you are wanting to stay for a 2-7 weeks in August/September 2017, I am happy to discuss a discounted rate as I will be overseas.**

The space

Kelburn House was built in 1906 for a surgeon Mr Heslop he paid 600 pounds ie $1200. In 2012 it was the fourth most expense house to sell in Wellington at $2.2 million.

It has been fully restored and renovated. The home is 1 minute walk to the Botanic gardens, 2 minutes walk to the Cable Car that will take you down to the heart of Wellington or walk down hill for 15 minutes to the city.

All breakfast supplies are supplied, at no extra cost. That is cereals, bread, spreads, bacon, eggs, tea and coffee and milk. I also supply Gluten free products if required at no extra cost. There is a real expresso coffee machine in the kitchen along with fresh coffee beans.

The home is fully self contained and is very safe and secure.

It has a large HD Television and Bose sound system in the living area.

You will have full access to the homes and its cooking facilities and equipment.

The home is ideally suited for up to 4 adults. There are 2 large bedrooms both with queen beds. Ensuite and separate bathroom. Both bathrooms have luxury shower gel and shampoos, luxury towels and hair dryers.

Also as my daughter owns a doggy day care only 5 minutes drive away if you have a dog she will look after it at her doggy daycare and then it can stay at her home overnight. The cost for this is $75 a day.

Kelburn House is in a very quiet dead end street. Kelburn is a very old prestigious suburb full of beautiful old homes. At the end of the street 30 meters away is the Botantic gardens, Kelburn village is 7 minutes walk, the central city is 15 minutes walk downhill or catch the Cable car down.

The Cable car to central city is 2 minutes walk away, there are also regular buses. A taxi to the central city is around $10NZ. A taxi to the Airport is around $50NZ. An Uber is around $25. There is off street parking for 1 car.

Mark will not be in the home when you stay as he is often away so he will arrange Eve a caring neighbour to look after you. Eve lives 2 doors away.

Recently Kelburn House has been used by a marketing agency for a 2 day workshop and as a Wedding / Honeymoon night stay. It would also suit small ceremonies like weddings, renewal of vows, Christenings. Ideal for a romantic hideaway for a night or two.

There are complimentary bottles of quality wine both red and white and chocolate or chocolate biscuits in the fridge.

Please feel free to contact me to come and see through Kelburn House to see if it is suitable for you.

Mark was there waiting for us when we arrived. He is very warm, down to earth, and welcoming. We were surprised at how well stocked the house was with all the basics for breakfast. Everything about the place is beautiful and comfortable. For us it was a splurge but well worth it. The cable car makes it very convenient to downtown and the times we did take a cab when getting back late, the fare was reasonable. We stayed for a week at the end of a very activity intensive trip to NZ and it was a pleasure to have such a lovely place to recuperate a bit. Also, unlike almost every place else the internet worked perfectly. Mark was also very gracious when we accidentally broke a picture frame.

We were very welcomed into Mark's home. He left great directions for how to run things. Wonderful neighborhood, easy to get around. We were here just one night and it was very nice.

Mark is a wonderful host and a very nice man! He met me when I arrived and showed me around his beautiful home and even took me for a 7 mile walk around Wellington so I could get aquainted with the city. His home is very spacious with 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms, high ceilings and has all the character you would expect in a turn of the century home. It is also very nicely decorated and clean with all the ammenities you could ask for in a home. There is also a great view of the foothills from the house. The location is fantastic because it is only a 2 minute walk to the cable car and you can be in downtown Wellington in 5 minutes. Or you can walk into the Botanic Gardens which is right next door. There is also a bus stop by the cable car, for a free shuttle ride to this wonderful bird and nature sanctuary called Zeelandia. There are also the Kelburn shops up the street with some restaurants,a wine shop, a pub,a small grocery store, fish market, meat market and even a couple of antique shops. I highly recomend Cafe Mode for great coffee and breakfast. I stayed at Kelburn house for one month and met my daughter there for Christmas. Mark decorated this big Christmas tree and had all of these beautiful decorations all over the house. We had a Great Christmas there because Mark made it feel so homey. The neighbors are also very kind and made us feel welcome as well however they were not intrusive so we had plenty of privacy. I am very happy I chose Mark's house as this was my first experiance with Air BnB. It was everything I hoped it would be, and much more. I highly recommend this home for anyone staying in Wellington!

This is a truly great apartment. It is private, clean, well-appointed, large and very comfortable. The host, Mark, is very personable and interesting. We enjoyed some social time with him and he is very solicitous about his guests needs. Highly recommended.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Mark's house. Great location (the little town of Kelburn just down the road is adorable), and the house was spacious, well-equipped and clean. Mark couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in Wellington!

Hi there, I am a local well known businessman. I am the national franchisor of a home service franchise system called "Mr Green" and also help my daughter run her Doggie Day Care "The Barking Lot" in the heart of the city. Also my son owns his own property maintenance business called "Olivers Army".

I have lived in Wellington for 29 years and can give you ideas of what to do in the Capital.

I am often away travelling here and there if you do book and I am away you will be looked after by family members. I recently walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain which was 800kms.
