*** Winter is coming! Yes! What an odd thing to say... except that winter in Cairns is magnificent: warm, balmy days with gentle breezes and friendly oceans. Winter is the best time to see the Reef, the colours are strong and vibrant and the rainforest gleams with new growth after the summer rains.
Come and see us... don't delay, we get booked up pretty quickly.
***** SPECIAL OFFER: Come and stay for a five nights and get a free tour of Barron Gorge!
**** Only a two minute stroll from the beautiful 1klm golden sands of Trinity beach fringed by cafe's, restaurants and rainforest trees, this location provides everything you could desire for a perfect holiday. **** The lounge area comprises two sofas surrounding Indonesian tables making this apartment elegant but practical, comfortable and homely. The dining room seats 6 and we have another 4 seater dining table outside on the large west facing terrace so there are plenty of places to eat in privacy if you wish. Undercover garage parking, bus stop close by, (bus to the centre of Cairns takes about 35 mins ) shops and world famous tourist attractions, The Great Barrier Reef and Heritage listed Tropical Rainforest are just down the road. You are welcome to use our kitchen which has an electric glass plate cook top and oven, washing machine, dryer, microwave, large fridge and freezer, plus kettle, toaster, etc.
**** Attractions in Far North Queensland include the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, the Daintree Peninsula, and many other wonderful spots (see our guidebook) plus Skyrail and Scenic railway up to the quaint village of Kuranda on the Atherton Tablelands. As qualified and experienced tour guides, Peter and/or Gabi can take you on private tours (for a small fee) and treat you to history and legends, and the best places that only the locals know about. For the Reef , the bus stop is only 50 metres away if you do not have your own car. Car Hire can be organised once you have arrived in Trinity Beach or on arrival at the airport, but PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ANY TOURS UNTIL YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO PETER AND GABI. This is because the weather can change rapidly and we like to pick the best day for your Reef cruise.
+++ A southern hemisphere winter should not deter you. I have posted some new photos taken only a couple of weeks ago - canoeing in the Coral Sea off the beach at Trinity Beach. The weather is magnificent and the reef sparkling. Temperatures have sunk to a mere 27 C and the nights are mild and clear. This is the time when the Southern Hemisphere comes to play in North Queensland and this is yet another time when we love to show you our beautiful Great Barrier Reef, ancient rain forests, waterfalls and Indigenous culture. The ocean is still warm with temps around 25C, making snorkelling and diving the first thing on the agenda. Contact us with your questions and we will answer within a very short period - unless it's the middle of the night!
**** Check out our Guidebook and ask us any questions about what you would like to do on your trip to our beautiful part of the world. We can help you organise it.
**** If you like birds, flora and fauna, we have masses of information. Sulphur crested cockatoos will greet you in the morning (not too early thankfully) as well as corellas, lorikeets, kookaburras, friar birds and curlews and the gardens are full of ginger plants, palms and cycads and much, much more.
**** Let us know what your likes and dislikes are from gourmet restaurants, bird watching, swimming on the Great Barrier Reef or local culture and we can point you in the right direction.
**** You are only 20 minutes from the centre of Cairns by car, where there are cinemas, a casino, marina and plenty of shopping, plus supermarkets at Smithfield and Trinity Beach that are only 3 to 10 minutes away by car plus there is a little corner shop on the beach front 3 minutes walk away for emergency supplies. A bus ride is a little longer - it stops to pick people up! 35 - 45 minutes for the bus into town, but we are often going in ourselves so we can usually work that out.
**** Bikes are available for you and so is our canoe but only if you are competent experienced canoeists.
**** Free wireless internet available....password given on arrival.
*****We can pick you up at the airport for $30 - taxi fare is usually $60.
***** Good deals for car hire - we can arrange for you if you wish!
***** AND MUCH MUCH MORE!

Interaction with Guests
Peter and Gabi are the perfect hosts, on tap for ideas and planning of tours and we can drive you ourselves!
The beach at Trinity is exquisite, about a kilometre of golden sand. Supermarkets are anything from a five minute walk to a 10 minute drive.
Public transport is available only 100 yards from our front door, with a bus stop that will take you into Cairns or to other beaches as well as on tour.
We also have bikes that you can borrow, a sailing boat we can take you out in if the weather is right and a canoe for experienced sea farers.
Other Things to Note
We prefer non-smokers but if you wish to indulge, outside is the best place!
We also have fishing rods and crab pots if you have a mind to dip a rod in the Coral Sea, plus masks and snorkels on the boat. If you go on a cruise to the Reef your snorkelling equipment is free but diving gear comes at a price - details when you get here.
The above sizes are for your room, the whole apartment is much bigger of course and we have our own area and bathroom. No animals allowed - sorry! Garage remote will let you in to the car park downstairs - safe and secure!
This is a residential block so no loud noise after 10pm please.
No smoking in the apartment, but on the terrace is fine.....no cigars please.
Gabi speaks French and Spanish as well as English.

Gabi was a terrific host. The room was exactly as advertised and we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Gabi gave us great advice on things to do, places to eat and even booked our Great Barrier Reef tour. We thorougly enjoyed Gabi's company, she was great fun and we had some fantastic conversations.
We felt very comfortable sharing space with her.
The location of her condo is perfect. Trinity Beach is beautiful and there are several great restaurants within a 5 minute walk. You won't find a better place to stay in the Cairns-Port Douglas area.
We were sorry to have missed Peter!

The Rose Room in Trinity Beach is a very good place to stay!
It's near the beach, has some nice restaurants and beautiful places.
Gabi and Peter are very friendly and nice people. They know a lot about Cairns and the surroundings. They helped us plan our days, so we would have the best weather for each activity.
You can sure have an all Aussie adventure with them!
Thanks! Gabi and Peter!
We had a wonderful time at the Rose Room. Gabi gave us excellent recommendations for the Harley crocodile Adventure. The Tablelands tour was excellent, and gave us a very good understandings of the Tablelands. We really enjoyed the Mossman Gorge trip - walk through the rain forests and the swimming. The GBR tour was an eye-opener,and we enjoyed it very much.
We were extremely lucky to have Peter with us the entire time. The detailed explanations of the trees and wild lives by Peter gave us a better understanding of the area. Last but not least is the delicious meals that Peter cooked for us (with lots of veg) was much appreciated.
Gabi and Peter - big thanks for all the sharing of your knowledge which enriched our visit to the Cairns area. Hope one day, we can do this same for you. Have A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We loved staying at Gabi's. She is an amazing host, took care of us very well. She is very attentive, welcomed us with a big smile and gave us the best tips a tourist can get. Gabi knows the area very well and helped us book the tours we needed. The location is great, close to beach and restaurants, very safe to walk late at night. The room was clean and we loved the balcony. We will definitely recommend her place to anyone going to Trinity Beach.
Gabi is a Super Host!!! From my surprise last minute booking to check in and checkout Gabi made me feel welcome and right at home. I stayed my last two days in Australia at The Rose Room and Gabi made sure that I made the most of my limited time in Queensland. She arranged my time so that I was able to see the Crystal Cascades, a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef, and a hike at Mossman Gorge (Rainforest). I had a great time dining with the locals and Gabi at L'unico Italian Restaurant in Trinity Beach. She even went out of her way to help me choose a new pair of bathers at the local surf shop, make a French toast with fruit brekkie for me..........I can go on and on about what a Super Host Gabi is!!!! Rest assured The Rose Room is clean and comfortable, in a safe and quiet neighborhood that comes with hospitality plus!!!!
