We also live on the premises and will make every effort to personally welcome you on your arrival. Although I am always busy with my historical research on Jamaica and my charity work for HELP Jamaica! ((website hidden)), I love to meet people from all over the world! I am happy to give you tips for getting around in Kingston, for the best museums, parks and sites in town, Kingston's vibrant night life and my favorite places to visit in Jamaica, the beautiful rivers, waterfalls and beaches off the beaten path! We will do what we can to make your stay pleasant and memorable! I am always available on cellphone and whats app.
The area is very safe and quiet and you hear the birds singing in our garden, from the rooftop, from where you have a beautiful view over Kingston. Although it is quiet, we are still very close to the main shopping areas Barbican and Liguanea, where you find a variety of malls, stores, restaurants, the best jerk chicken in town and basically everything you need! We are close to the US Embassy and the major universities UWI and UTECH.
In 10 walking minutes you reach Barbican, where you can access the public bus and route taxi system, so you can easily get around. A charter taxi from our home is about 3,50 US to the nearby supermarkets, 5 US$ to the University, to Half-Way-Tree, and about 7 US$ to downtown.
I stayed in pine guest house for a week when I am in Jamaica for visa stamping. Starting from the time I landed in Jamaica till I left, I got full support from Birte. Reid was very helpful suggested by Birte. The house was amazing and very near to US embassy. Chris ( the chef) at the guest house cooked food at any time for us and he cooked indian food and it was very tasty.
Wifi is best and is similar as in office. This is definitely best and cheap place to stay when someone is in Jamaica. Birte also provided sample interview questions for visa stamping.
This is in a very safe place and police are always there. If I come again I will definitely stay in this place and would suggest anyone o stay here.
I had a great stay at Birte's. Our initial communication was easy and although Birte was away during my stay so I didn't meet her, Mrs Pat her landlord and her housekeeper Andre were friendly, informative and made me feel very welcome. Birte left instructions so I could easily find everything and Andre showed me around when I arrived so I knew where everything was.
There is also a great private balcony just outside the room, which was a perfect for a relaxing Saturday morning after two full days at a conference.
I would definitely stay at Birte's again and look forward to meeting Birte next time I'm in Kingston.
Birte was a great host, very friendly and hospitable. My stay was very enjoyable. The area was quiet and well situated and the room was clean and cozy. Birte did a wonderful job of entertaining and was great company. In summation it's a nice cozy place with a lovely host. If ever I'm in Jamaica would look forward to staying here again and would highly recommend it anyone interested.
Pat and Brite were good hosts. It's a good place to meet wonderful people and having interesting conversations. It is safe to stay here. Sean is the taxi driver Brite recommended. He is nice and helpful. If I go back to Kingston I will definitely stay here. Overall experience was amazing.
This was my second stay at Birte's in a couple days. Everything was just as when I stayed at the room. Clean, safe and relatively quiet. Hopefully, I will meet Birte the next time I stay.
I did not have the chance to meet Birte because she was away at the time of my stay but she made sure that I was surrounded with people who could assist me if I needed anything. A sincere thank you to Pat and Andre... Birte was also always a quick email away. I have already booked by second stay at the room. It really is a great location and good value for women travelling in Kingston.

I have founded a NGO that operates a library, homework and youth center in one of Kingston ghettos, Cassava Piece, to provide free access to education and afternoon care for children as well as adults: (website hidden)
I know Kingston very well, and can provide you with inside knowledge on transportation, shopping, dancehall parties and clubs, restaurants and things to do and see in this fascinating wonderful city! I also know some nice and affordable places in the country side.
