We rent a room in our large 4 bedroom apartment in Berlin Charlottenburg.
The apartment is very quiet and surrounded by the green. It is in a very central location in the southwest of Berlin. The apartment is very well to be reached with S-rail and busses. The nearest subway station is Breitenbachplatz.
The apartment boasts with high ceilings and your brightness. It's a very family-friendly and we would be delighted if you are traveling with children. I myself live here with my two children (10 and 7). We speak German, English, Spanish and French.

I am an avid traveler so I am over staying in hotels and hostels; I like to stay with a local in the host city. But this is the first time I traveled, by myself, with my 9-month old son. From the moment I saw the title of Monica's airbnb offer, I knew her place was for us. Other places marked 'children friendly' but Monica and her family LITERALLY welcomed us with open arms. It was as if we had been friends for years.
The house was clean, cozy, and convenient. I highly recommend staying with Monica if you are going to be situated near Steglitz. If you're going into the city everyday it's probably not the place for you because it's about an hour commute on public transport (to Alexanderplatz for example) but if you are looking for a place near the University or the Stadion Lichterfeld in my case - consider yourself lucky if you get to stay with Monica and the boys!
I was very skeptical about the idea of renting a room in somebody else's home - I always assumed it would be "too close for comfort". I normally look for entire apartments.
But Monica's listing came up in my search and for some odd reason, I had a gut feel it would work out. So I went ahead and booked her place. I'm so glad I did. It turned out to be a truly great experience for myself and my two daughters.
First of all, her place was spotlessly clean. Monica also organized things so we'd have plenty of space and privacy. And - get this - when we arrived, we discovered little candies and cookies waiting on our pillows for us. What a touch of class!
As far as the location, it's smack in the heart of an area called Steglitz - a perfect starting point for exploring Berlin. The area is full of quaint shops, great eateries, cafes, bakeries, a top-of-the-line boulevard (SchlossStrasse) full of top-tier shopping and plenty of Berlin vibe. Everything is within walking distance along tree-lined, cobblestone sidewalks. Just beautiful.
But enough about the place. Let's talk about what really made this stay special for us: Monica, our host. I've heard it said, "The people make the place'. So true. Monica is a fantastic host - she provided resources, introduced us to the city and welcomed us into her home with open arms.
I really can't believe a stranger on the other side of the world would be so gracious, giving and helpful - but she was. After just a few days, I felt like family. Monica made our family's first trip via airbnb an unforgettable experience.
