  • Kathy is a nice Lady you would like to have as a grandparent.
The room is quite good and lovely situated. Breakfast is great. You'd live or there.

  • Our stay at Kathy T. O'Donnell's home outside of Donegal (near Glenties) was very pleasant. Kathy was a wonderful hostess, welcoming us to her home with tea and cookies and introducing us to her extended family, who were visiting for the day. Our room was indeed cozy and private as billed. We were also welcome to use a small conservatory at the front of the building, which had a marvelous panoramic view of the beautiful countryside, and the main lounge. Kathy, with the assistance of her husband, served us wonderful Irish breakfasts. We also met other visitors in the lounge and the breakfast room. Kathy mentioned that she has been in the B and B business for a number of years, and it is hard to imagine any guest not enjoying her hospitality and experience.

  • We arrived later than we'd planned, but Kathy was there when we arrived and offered us tea and goodies as a warm welcome. While we were enjoying tea, one of the other visitors (a repeat customer of more than 14 years from France, if I remember correctly) stopped by to give Kathy some beautiful fish he caught that day.

Our stay was a good value: nice location, the room was very clean and wonderfully quiet, breakfast was plentiful, and Kathy and her husband were lovely hosts.

Oakdale B and B was a great location for the immediate exploration of the Bluestack mountains, and was within driving distance of Ardara (~20 min), Donegal Town, and many other places as well. We are slow drivers, so the times referenced are conservative.

Note: If Kathy offers you her homemade sponge cake with tea, do NOT pass it up. It's by far the best I've ever had.

  • My husband and I stayed with Teresa and Paddy when we came to celebrate our one year anniversary. We were greeted warmly and talking with Teresa gave off the feeling that we had known them all our life. Teresa's laugh is contagious and Paddy sure kept me full of laughs. They do a great job of sharing stories about their town and making suggestions as to where to go for the day. Room was comfortable and there was an electric blanket that kept the bed warm when you crawled in for rest. Overall I had the most amazing stay with them and will be visiting them again for sure. Highly recommend!
