I love the area around the villa and the whole property because it's like being in a picture: the shapes and colours of the surroundings vary so much in the different periods of the year!
Hues of gree, yellow and brown make up a stunning lanscape.
The exact address is: Strada di Certan(phone number hidden) Costalpino-SIENA. Please pay attention, because some tourists went in the wrong place!

I simply can't express how wonderful our stay was! Annalisa was not in town, but she still responded to our calls immediately every time and left us in the extremely capable hands of Graziella. After a very difficult travel experience, Annalisa and Graziella were very patient with our delayed arrival. We were so late that everything in Siena and the town of Costalpino was closed, so Graziella supplied us with food from her own home for both dinner and breakfast the following morning! When a companion was taken ill, they were flexible with our checkout time and even willing to allow us to stay an extra night if necessary. I am truly grateful for everything they did for us—they went above and beyond and saved our trip!
The apartment itself was absolutely lovely. Separate from the hotel, we had plenty of quiet and privacy. The view from the bedroom windows were worth the entire trip. There was enough seating for all of us at the dinner table, comfortable couches for all of us in the living room area, they had everything we needed in the kitchen. They even provided a stereo with a nice variety of music for us to enjoy. Oh, and by far the best shower.
My only caveat is that without a car it can be a bit costly traveling to and from Siena by taxi (taxis did arrive promptly within 10 minutes each time and were very friendly). It is not a safe walk to the town of Costalpino to catch the bus due to winding roads and traffic, though the town itself was very welcoming.
We stayed in several AirBNB locations throughout Italy during our trip, all very nice, but my girlfriends and I agree this was by far the best—I can't wait to return.
Tanto la casa como los alrededores son tal y como se describen. Un espacio muy acogedor, tranquilo con espléndidas vistas. Nos han facilitado la estancia y ayudado en todo l necesario. Perfecto!!!
We had a great time at the apartment in Certano! Annalisa was great at keeping in contact before we arrived and answering any questions we had. Graciela was the lady who met us and showed us around the property and was also available if we needed anything during our stay. She was so kind and gracious.
The place was beautiful--really idyllic and what you'd imagine when you think of Tuscany. Our kids loved being able to explore the grounds, but we were also near Siena so we could go into town and see the sights. We enjoyed breakfast in the old kitchen and the highlight was the traditional Tuscan dinner (it is extra to book but well worth it!) and the wine from their vineyards was also excellent.
The only complaint is that we were going to use the bus station nearby to go into town, but we would have had to walk on a busy road with no path or shoulder...not ideal with two small children. Graciela was kind enough to call us a taxi the two times we went into Siena.
The apartment itself was amazing and filled with Tuscan charm. We had a very relaxing time and only wish we could have stayed longer!
Superbe logement, endroit paisible pour se ressourcer, Graziela est très très très sympathique. Rien à redire, nous repartons enchantés par l'appartement, la région et la proximité de Sienne.
Fantastic place. We loved everything about the house, the service and the location. Can I live here for some time?
Thank Annalisa and Signora Graciela for being helpful, careful and always available.
What a wonderful place Certano is!!! Annalisa and the amazing Graciela made certain everything was right for us. The accommodation is clean and has everything a family needs. There were 5 of us and the villa slept 10. So much space. The children especially enjoyed the run around the gardens. We loved sitting watching the sunset over the Tuscan valley. We wished we could have had a longer stay. There are so many places to visit in the region 3 days is just not enough. Thanks Annalisa and Graciela for looking after us so well. We hope to see your wonderful town again soon.
We loved our 5 days at Villa di Certano. It is a typical Tuscan farmhouse, very beautiful and is in a beautiful area where you can enjoy the beautiful countryside of Tuscany. The location is good, close to Siena and easy access to visit other cities in the region, such as San Gimignano, Pienza and Firenze. Also impeccable hospitality of Graziela, who served us with great sympathy.
We are sure to recommend to stay at Villa di Certano.

About the Host, Annalisa
My name is Annalisa Baldassarrini, I am a descendant of the Baldassarrini family who lived for centuries in the estate of Certano. I'm responsible for the management, maintenance and care of the houses and apartments that we rent. Fishing out things here and there from the rooms of the ancient villa of Certano, I tried to restore the flavor of the houses. In the days when I was a little girl and I used to go and visit the farmers in the houses we now open to tourists. I really like going to the flea markets in search of old objects and furniture to embellish our homes and create a true Tuscan atmosphere. I enjoy growing lavander and love creativity in general, and in the store I opened under the stable I create scented sachets and various crafts to offer to our guests. I'm keen on painting, decoupage, embroidery and creativity in general. Certano makes me feel good because it enhances my artistic side!
