This is one of three casitas in our building and is located on the top floor. It has a spiral staircase and also has a roof top garden area to sit. It has direct access to the roof top but is shared with the other casitas.

The Space

This Casita is located on the third floor and there is a spiral staircase to it. The casita is very attractive, decorated in Mexican style and is comfortable and roomy. It has a full kitchen and separate dining area. A lovely living room with a balcony. The bedroom is large and room and has a queen bed and a twin day bed. It sleeps a couple with a child or two singles.
THE RATES INCLUDE THE 16% TAXESFOR SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO COLLECT.

Guest Access

There is a washer and dryer located on the main floor entrance for use by the guests. Each casita has access to the roof top terrazza. Great views of San Miguel and a nice place to have a glass of wine and make new friends.

Interaction with Guests

There will be someone to greet you when you arrive and show you around the casita and give you information on the area. We will be in during the week to do housekeeping. You will have our cell phone number for concerns and questions.

The Neighborhood

This is a great neighborhood and a great location, close to all major attractions. The buildings are quaint and charming and we are located very close to the popular Artisans Market. The street is very interesting. There are many shops, restaurants , galleries, and the popular La Bibliotecc, a library and cultural center of the town.

Getting around

San Miguel de Allende is a walking town. You can walk almost anywhere. There are plenty of taxis and they are very inexpensive ( $2.50 to most places) and there are also buses that are even less expensive (5 pesos).

Other Things to Note

You will have a great time here as there is always something exciting going on. I have owned a very successful B & B in the USA for 15 years and I plan on doing te same with my casitas here in San Miguel.

  • Lovely apartment, centrally located. Clean, well-equiped, thoughtfully appointed. Located on 3rd floor up a spiral staircase so carrying luggage up can be challenging, but once in the apartment it is great with a wonderful view of San Miguel and all the cathedrals. Host is responsive. Would love to return.

  • An important thing in or near the Centro of San Miguel is view and access. The Centro is relatively small area, loaded with surprisingly wonderful shops and restaurants and bakeries. A favorite for us was restaurant Ma Vida, special bakery sweets in the morning.
We selected casita #3 at Tres Casitas, which involved 33 steps up a circular stairway, because we could see that it had a rooftop view out over that part of city. When the rains came, which were refreshing, we were in the middle of it all. We got the sense of being in the middle of an active locals community, the barking dogs, bells at all hours from 3 churches nearby, street life and easy walking distance to all. Lest this sound noisily intrusive it was, in fact, exciting and colorful.
The casitas are are all beautiful and well appointed. What we loved best about casita #3 were the great views out every window, the light and nearly constant fresh breezes through the unit, immediate access to the shared rooftop patio. The place was cleaned every 3-4 days, well supplied with fresh towels, soaps and coffee. Jacquie checked in with us several times during our stay and was always promptly attentive to any needs we had and she was at the same time respectful of our privacy.
The location couldn’t be better. We could easily walk to most everything one would want to see upon arrival. Taxis are cheap and we took them to areas outside the Centro such a La Gruta (the grotto) which is about 10-12 kilometers outside San Miguel.
We expected an obvious American expat community but what we found was a vibrant Mexican town.
Jacquie is delightful and an experienced hostess. All in all, a wonderful experience

  • I spent the month of January in this lovely light-filled apartment. Located on the top floor of the building, it has windows with views of the churches and the surrounding hills. You can even see the fireworks from the Jardín from the bedroom! Right outside the door is the terrace with a pleasant fountain and tables and chairs--a lovely place to have a glass of wine, watch the sunset and meet the neighbors from the two apartments downstairs.
The location of the building is convenient for the Artisans Market, La Biblioteca, Habla Hispana Spanish school, and is only a short flat walk along Calle Relox to El Jardín. The mercado for fruit, vegetables and meat is a short three blocks slightly uphill. There are two little grocery stores right outside the front door for milk, beer, juice etc. Don Antonio at the store across the street will patiently listen to your less-than-perfect Spanish and chat with you like an old friend after a couple of days.
This January was particularly cold in San Miguel, so I appreciated the gas heater in the living room and the electric blanket on the comfortable bed. The washer and dryer downstairs for use of the tenants was very convenient. The kitchen had everything I needed, including good sharp knives (a rarity in rented apartments in my experience).
This is a 5-star apartment, but may not be suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs as there is a spiral staircase to access the apartment. I did not have problems with the stairs, but did have help getting my luggage up and down.
The owner, Jacque´, is very attentive to any issues that might arise, and she or her assistant Macario will come over to help as they only live a couple of blocks away. She can also give you tips on restaurants and other services.

  • La Casita #3 was such a pleasure for our stay in San Miguel de Allende. It had everything we needed. The location was convenient to everything in the center of the city. The space was cozy, even during a cold period that struck the city. And Jacque and Macario were wonderful to meet and very responsive to our requests. We would definitley return to La Casita in the future.
