This is one of three of our casitas and is a lovely one bedroom casita located on the main floor. It has access to the roof top garden by a sprial staircase that is shared by the other casitas. TAXES ARE INCLUDED IN THE RATES
The casita is roomy and light. It is a beautiful Mexican style apartment with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is fully equipped and the gas log fireplace in the living room will keep you warm and cozy on winter nights. There is a separate dining area. The living room has doors that open to a patio with a fountain and plants.
The bedroom has a queen bed and there is a day/bed type sofa in the living room that can accommodate a small adult or child. It can sleep a couple and a child or two singles.
THE RATES INCLUDE 16% TAXES THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO COLLECT FOR THE CITY.
The casita also has a washer and dryer for guests use in an area next to the casita. There is a roof top garden for all the guests to enjoy. It has awesome views of San Migiuel. A great place for a glass of wine and to make new friends
Interaction with Guests
Once you arrive, there will be someone to greet you and show you around the casita and give you information on the area. We will be in during the week to do housekeeping and check on anything you may need. You will have our cell numbr for any concerns and questions.
This casita is located in a great area, very close to the Artisans Market. The architecture of the area is quaint and charming and the street has many shops, restaurants, galleries, and the popular La Bibliotecca, a library and cultural center for the town.
San Miguel is a walking town and our location is perfect as we are clsoe to all major attractions. There are many taxis and they are very inexpensive. You can also catch a bus and that is even more inexpensive. Very easy to get around.
Other Things to Note
This is a very interesting place to stay. Many things going on all the time. You will have a great time here and you will be very comfortable. I have a run a very scccessful Bed and Breakfast in the USA for 15 years and I plan to do the same with my casitas here in San Miguel.
We want you to be happy and comfortable here. And we would expect our guests to treat our other guests with courtesy and consieration that they would expect from others. Please wash all dishes, pot & pans and put them away where you found them. Please straighten up all areas and put the trash bas in the container in the entry. Leave all beds unmade. Please leave everything as you found it when you arrived. Happy Stay!
We had some difficulty initially getting in touch with Jacque because she got her dates mixed up and it took a couple of days and a mail to AirBnB before she got back to us. Once we got that worked out, she met us, but gave us incomplete instructions on the operation of the casita, particularly the heating, which is essential in the winter in San Miguel. We never did get the fireplace to work, which was really the best feature of the place, especially if you're looking for something romantic. The location is right next to the artisan's market, but there was otherwise nothing particularly outstanding about the casita. We didn't use the shared balcony, which has a limited view of the church primarily because it is basically an extension of the third floor apartment. If you do decide to stay at the casita, go for the top floor. Otherwise, if you prefer privacy, look elsewhere. The photos are a bit misleading as well and the place is darker than the picture shown for the listing, and the bedroom is more of a dungeon. The fountain was really a bit of a dribble from the wall. There are some amazing places in San Miguel, but this isn't really one of them.
Well, We are very sorry you were so disappinted. But you are the only one of many who have stayed who were happy. It is the main floor apartment and the pictures are taken by AirBnB phtographers who did not use any special lighting and do give a realistic impression of the casita. I have people in it now who have been nothing but complimentary about it and have NOT found it unpleasant in any way. I have no isea of what remarks you are referring to when you arived. It is our goal to have guests enjoy themselves while in San Miguel and we do everything to make our casitas a pleasant place to stay.

I stayed in the bottom Casita - it is beautiful, well appointed and spacious. There is an incredible outdoor patio with a fountain which is well-lit at night. The Casita is short walking distance to the Jardin Principal and everything else you would want in Allende - including the Aurora Galleries. Jackie, the owner, really took her time to make the interior beautiful and usable. The value is great - considering that the nice hotels(that are also well located!!) are anywhere from $150/night and up. Of course, if want hotel amenities then it is hard to compare. One criticism: I only had one hot shower -which was a real drag-however, Jackie was getting ready to fix the system with a local plumber. Find out if this was done. I left in early Jan, 2014. Also, the fireplace works on and off - but that's no biggee. All in all, a big thumbs up!!!!

I have been in the hospitality business for a long time , having run a top notch B & B in Bucks County, Pa. for almost 15 years. Now I am in San Miguel de Allende where I reside most of the year and have purchased three beautiful casitas (apartments) . I am also an accomplished oil painter and have a gallery here in San miguel de Allende. I can guarantee guests that they will have a great stay in a very beautiful place and absolutely enjoy themselves in the magical town. The casitas are in a great location, close to the Jardin in the Histopric Centro.
