The Space

We're just a few minutes walk from some of Philly's most famous sights – the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, the Franklin Institute, Eastern State Penitentiary, Boathouse Row and Fairmount Park. We've hosted countless tourists, who love the proximity to Philly's fabulous museums, galleries, parks and river trails. Ideally situated for the many fab neighborhood eateries of Fairmount Avenue.

We're also ideally suited for visiting academics, business trips, and conference attendees, given our proximity to Philly's renowned universities and the Pennsylvania Conference Center. We've hosted doctors, scientists, lecturers, musicians, entrepreneurs, alumni attending college reunions, and families traveling for graduation.

Our guests come from as far away as the Netherlands, France, Australia, the UK and California, and as close as Brooklyn and DC. We welcome all courteous and respectful visitors from around the globe!

Our home has a gorgeous, high-ceiled living space with heaps of original features. Feel free to read a book and relax in the beautiful living room. You can also help yourself to a complementary drink from the drinks tray!

Our guest suite is spacious and has a very comfortable queen bed perfect for two. You have a fabulous en suite spa shower room all to yourselves (please note that there's no bath tub).

Please read the full description, noting check-in and check-out times and the house rules before making a reservation request. Thank you!

Guest Access

PLEASE NOTE - We don't serve breakfast, and there's no access to kitchen or dining facilities for guests. If you need to be able to prepare food or dine in during your stay, we cannot provide what you are seeking. There are countless great local eateries for guests to enjoy and we are very happy to make recommendations.

You have a electric kettle, tea and coffee in your room to help make you feel at home. There is no refrigerator, microwave or other food prep facilities in your room. For hygiene reasons, food prep, storage or bringing food back to your room is not permitted.

There's a hairdryer in your room for your convenience. Iron and ironing board are available on request.

For a small fee ($8 per load, including detergent), you're welcome to use our washer and dryer facilities. Please ask first before using and we'll show you how everything works.

Interaction with Guests

We're both busy and independent, so you'll have plenty of personal space. That said, we love meeting new people and are happy to offer advice about places to visit or to eat. We love our rapidly gentrifying neighborhood and want you to have an awesome time exploring it!

The Neighborhood

We are a few minutes walk from Philadelphia's beautiful Museum District, Fairmount Park, Boathouse Row and great river trails where you can walk, jog and rent bikes.

We have excellent neighborhood cafes and restaurants right here in Fairmount. Delicious breakfasts and coffee at Tela's (2 blocks), Danish-inspired brews and pub food at hip Bar Hygge (1 block), organic local dining at Fare (4 blocks), delicious leaf teas and sandwiches at OCF Cafe (5 blocks)... We can tell you where is great to go! Plus we're just 5 minutes walk from Marc Vetri's chic Osteria and Alla Spina restaurants on North Broad Street.

It's a 15 minute walk to Wholefoods. There's a post office, pharmacy, convenience store and gas station right here in Fairmount too.

Getting Around

We're 1.5 blocks walk to Fairmount Subway (Broad Street Line), which takes you to Center City. There are also buses right from the end of the block on 17th Street. Uber gets you into Center City in a flahd

But we love walking and cycling most of all - Philadelphia is a great city to explore. Center City and leafy Rittenhouse Square are around a 20 min walk.

There's plenty of free on-street parking, so no need to worry about scary parking rates – just be sure to park inside the signs.

Other Things to Note

This room has a small chest of drawers just for you to store your belongings in. The closet / wardrobe contains our private belongings.

Also, we have two young black labrador dogs. They're kept out of your way (unless you're a dog lover and then you're welcome to play!). Just wanted to make you aware that they live here too and you may hear the occasional woof of enthusiasm! If you have dog allergies or are not comfortable with dogs, we advise seeking alternative accommodation.
