The house is steps away from every possible place you could want to go in Ottawa. Parliament, Canal, Byward Market, OttawaU, NAC are all a quick walk away and there are many restaurants and bars around. Underground Parking Available for $15/night
This is an awesome room in an awesome house with awesome people. The room is large with a brand new double bed, and futon if you want to sleep extra people. There is a full bathroom (with tiled stand up shower) just outside your room, laundry if you need it and even a guitar in your room if you are musically inclined. Feel free to come upstairs and jam with me as I have a keyboard, 2 other guitars and a sit drum (Cajon). You can sleep 4 people in the space comfortably, although there will be an additional charge for each guest. If you want to sleep more, that is up to you. I have listed it as 6 people as some people have small children, although if you want to post up on the floor with a camping mattress, im happy to let you.
High Speed Wifi is included
The kitchen is equipped with everything you could want, including a masticating juicer, which you are free to use.
Underground Parking is available for $15/night
You are free to use the kitchen and I will be happy to have you join me for dinner!
The main floor of our house is common area and you can feel free to hang out. If you want to stay in, there is a large comfy couch, 60 inch TV with a jailbroken AppleTV (which gives you access to every movie and tv show you would need). You can feel free to play PS3 or just chill.
Interaction with Guests
During the school months (Sept-May) I have 2 students staying with me who are usually out or sleeping.
The neighbourhood is AWESOME! I live in Sandy Hill, steps away from OttawaU (we are basically on University of Ottawa campus), Byward Market, Rideau Canal, Rideau Centre, many major transit hubs, Parliament (a few more steps), Elgin St, Sparks St, you name it! There are a ton of restaurants (breakfast spots galore) and bars around and we will be happy to bring you out with us!
I would be more than happy to help you come up with an itinerary of the hot spots you should check out, events going on, how to get there, etc.
In a few steps you will be at the central transit hub for OttawaU and Rideau Centre, meaning you can get ANYWHERE from our place easily.
If you need parking there is free parking on the street, or I may be able to provide you with a space. (Ask before booking)
If I happen to be headed out, I will be happy to offer you a ride to somewhere.
Other Things to Note
So to recap what you get when staying with me:
-Comfy Bed, Large Room, Futon. Easily sleep 4 or more (if you are more you will need to be imaginative, but i have extra pillows and blankets.)
-Free Wifi and Laundry
-Use of kitchen and main living room
-Walking distance from everything you could possibly be in Ottawa to see including Byward market, Parliament, OttawaU, Rideau Canal
We have a 2 yr old dog, who is amazingly well behaved and does not go into your space. He is cuddly as hell, but we will keep him away from you if you're not a dog person.
The house is very clean and we want to keep it that way. If you use something, clean up after yourself.
We will allow dogs to come in as long as they are well behaved. Our dog gets along with all animals, so no issues there.
If you smoke cigarettes, go out on the patio, there is NO SMOKING CIGARETTES in the house.
If you come home late and wasted, try to be quiet. No unauthorized guests if we are not home and definitely none at night.
Just don't be a slob, be respectful and we will get along just fine!
Jason's house is well-located in the center of Ottawa, and is well-renovated and decorated.
But unfortunately, it was a mess and it was quite dirty when we went there. (It looked like many people/students were living in this house and nobody was taking care of the household...)
We didn't have the chance to meet Jason, who let his girlfriend show us the room.
The room was ok, supplied wih clean sheets and towels, and with the bathroom just next door. However, I wouldn't say that 4 people can easily sleep in... It's good for 2, but with more people it's like a hostel dormitory.
We were quite disappointed about our stay. It's really a shame, because it could really be a great place to stay in Ottawa!
Loved it, made me feel very welcome. Let me drive his awesome car! He had one beer and shared it with me! So nice and also gave me a glass of wine too.
Only stayed for one night. Check-in was super easy and even though Jason wasn't there to welcome me, still came down to check that everything went smoothly and I was comfortable (which it did and I was). Super kind and very sociable, gave me lots of tips on places to go in the city, would recommend.
Jason (and Clarke !) welcomed us really nicely, it's an agreeable place to stay, close to the city center. We had a pleasant time here !
The location of the house is perfect for a visit in ottawa. Most of the sights and many bars and restaurants (bayward market) are within walking distance. The house itself is absolutely ok and jason is a very nice guy. Probably it is more suitable for smaller groups because the room is not that big and the house is pretty crowded. However, we have been three students and it was totally ok for us!
Had a good stay at Jason's place. Room is clean and comfortable at the basement of the house. Location is good too, a short walk will take you to Byward market and the major attractions in Ottawa. Jason is an easy going and friendly guy and his dog, Clark is such a beauty! Thanks Jason for hosting us.

My name is Jason. I am a fun loving guy, social and love to meet new people. I have been an entrepreneur for a long time now and am on my 4th business, all car related. If you are a car enthusiast or interested in business at all, we will have loads to talk about.
I moved here from Vancouver in 2012 and have gotten to know Ottawa quite well, so I can show you where you should go, what to do and even join you for a few drinks. I am open minded and respectful so anyone can feel comfortable staying here.
My dog, Clark, is a huge suck and even if you're not a dog person, you will be a Clark person. I usually gate off the basement so he doesn't go down there and bother you, if that's what you prefer.
