Centrally located in Washington DC and the heart of historic Mt Pleasant, this design award winning worldly home is for Scandinavian design and African art lovers. A haven for families with kids who will love the 3rd floor ball pit and Legos galore.

The space
Our 100+ year-old historic row house is located in vibrant Mt Pleasant close to everything DC has to offer: Rock Creek Park and the National Zoo are our next-door neighbors, the White House and National Mall are app. two miles down the road.

Our house has an ideal setup for families with kids who want to explore DC, but be able to relax like they were at home and let the kids hang in the playroom with toys, books, wii games or a splash in the ball pit. The artful kids room sleeps two.

The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, the loft-bedroom has a queen sized bed and the study has a pullout queen sized bed.

The kitchen is especially enjoyable for those who want to cook - it was recently awarded a design price.

We are an allergy prone family – non-smoking and pet-policy are therefore non-negotiable.

While we enjoy Scandinavian design and African art, we are focused on functionality and nothing in our house is too precious. It's the place to hang your hat and put up your feet after enjoying everything that DC has to offer.

We speak Danish, Swedish, English, German - and try us in Portuguese!

Mt. Pleasant is a diverse and vibrant neighborhood. The neighborhood has been around since 1727 and was DC’s first streetcar suburb. It became part of the city when the district was officially established in 1791. We love that we can walk everywhere and wouldn't actually need to get out of our small neighborhood for anything. Weekly farmers markets, a fantastic coffee/bar (Elle), Latin food, Asian Food (Beau Thai), Pilipino (Purple Patch), Pizza (Martha Dear), Organic grocery (Each Peach), regular live music/events and lots of small Latino groceries.

There are 44 restaurants within a 15 minute walk; our favorites are marked in our guidebook.
