  • This apartment is exactly as its description newly refurbished very clean cosy warm and full of character a pleasure to stay there, in a quiet neigberhood away from nightlife noise, but very easy for you to access the nightlife if you want to, swimming pool 5 mins walk and cheap too, Bonus supermarket selling lots of fresh food every day 8_10mins walk on main high street along with a very good selection of shops selling gifts, food, tourist info, bars and cafes a very easy access to your apartment from them. When booking trips you can be picked up at hotel Baron a 5 min walk away and dropped off great after a long day sightseeing .

  • We stayed in Sigulon's apartment for 5 nights over New Year Day in Iceland. The apartment is well located, close to the main shopping street, where the supermarket is located, but away from the noise and traffic. It was very clean and comfortable. Heater in the apartment keeps us warm (very important in Iceland during winter) and the kitchen was well equipped. TV have english channels and wifi is fast as well. We went for several tours and the buses had no problems finding us at the address. Communication with Sigurlon during booking process, checking in and checking out was swift and easy. He patiently answered a lot of our questions throughout the entire process. We really enjoyed our stay in Iceland and will definitely stay at this apartment again if we return.

  • Cosy little apartment very well situated close to downtown. Great bed! Appreciated being able to check in off an early morning flight from Canada. A couple of suggestions, matches/lighter and instructions on lighting the burners would be a help and two things were mentioned in previous reviews and have not been corrected - not difficult and would make things easier and more smooth sailing for future guests. Keys for the front door that work first time and its great having an eating bar for those of us who do not like eating off our knees but..... the stools are far too low!

  • Sigurjón was an outstanding host. Me and 2 other friends were only going to stay at his apartment for one night but ended up spending our whole stay in Reykjavik at his apartment. The space in itself is wonderful, cozy, extremely clean and with all of the tools required for a trip to Reykjavik in September. But above all, Sigurjón is a great guy with very interesting insights on the city and amazing stories of his travels around Europe.
I would highly recommend him and his apartment. I am almost certain that any other stay would not be as interesting as a stay in Sigurjón Jónsson flats!

  • Sigurjon was easy to communicate with. He had contacted us several times prior to arrival to sort out times, etc. He answered some basic travel questions about iceland prior to arrival i.e do we need a 4WD in autumn and was happy for us to check out late. The apartment is warm and cosy, in a great location 5 minutes walk from the town centre. Our only problem was the key to the front door was extremely difficult to use making it a battle to get back in. The apartment had everything - cooking facilities and even a washing machine. Definitely excellent value for money (email hidden).

  • One day before we were due to arrive in Iceland, I received an e-mail form Sigurjon telling me that the location of my stay changed to a different property of his. He did provide us with the address. The language of the e-mail was vague: no information about how to pick up the keys, so I called him repeatedly from Copenhagen. I also sent him an e-mail. He never picked up my numerous attempts to call him or returned my e-mail. We arrived in Iceland at 2 am not really knowing where we would be staying. We ended up in the different apartment. He left the front door and the apartment door unlocked. Because we never heard back from him, I decided to enter the apartment. I was extremely shocked to see that the apartment was NOTHING like the original apartment we were supposed to stay in. It looked like someone had just stayed in the apartment: dirty towels in the bathroom, unmade beds, pillows WITHOUT pillow-cases, dirty dishes in the kitchen sink, etc. The apartment itself was beat up: scratched floors, horrible looking hot water kettle (so disgusting I couldn't even use it), dirt and blood stains on the mattress, stopped up bathroom sink... etc. In a nutshell, this apartment was nothing like the original one I had read reviews about. This last minute change was a breach of the contract between me and Sigurjon and Airbnb. I have been dealing with Airbnb for three years and I have NEVER had such experience.

  • Due to a mix-up, I actually ended up at one of Sigurjon's different listings just down the road (and a bit closer to the main street) and it was great. The apartment was clean, centrally located and perfect for a solo stay in Reykjavik.

I arrived late, and there was a key waiting for me in a lockbox.

Would definitely recommend staying at one of his listings while you're in Iceland!

  • This apartment is in a great location! A few minutes walk will get you anywhere in Central Reykjavik. It was a bit smaller than the photos would lead you to believe, but we stayed there for 3 weeks (3 people) and it was fine.

Sigurjon (email hidden), he made us feel right at home and was very quick to provide anything we were missing.

    Highly recommended.
