I met Susan over 4 years ago when we both did Billy Elliot, the Musical. And I can tell you from our experience working together, that she is as fun and sweet and as good a person as I have ever met. While I have remained in contact with her through the years, I have seen all the renovations she has done through before and after pictures, which has left me not only impressed, but jealous. You would be hard pressed to find a better hostess, and more comfortable and peaceful getaway.
Susan's "little yellow house" is a precious, adorable, beautifully appointed, neat, 2- bedroom home in a quiet, secluded setting in Andover, VT. It's close to many ski areas, and hiking trails. The Weston Playhouse is nearby for entertainment in the summer, and the Vermont Country Store is open all year, just 3 miles from the house. Susan has a wonderful "welcome book" that gives guests information that covers everything, from how things work in the house, to places to visit, eat, etc. She's a wonderful hostess, and would be a great housemate if present to share the house. However, her work often takes her out of town, so even if she's not present for those who rent her house, you'll find her books, and homey decor reminiscent of her fun personality. I have stayed there numerous times, and absolutely love the privacy, other than visits from the deer or occasional moose that walk thru the property. I give her a 5-star review.
I have known Susan for many years and I have been a guest at her house in Vermont, where we met. It is ideally situated on a quiet, private road, surrounded by lush woods with a huge yard for fair-weather fun. When I stay there I start my day with coffee on the porch, just listening to the wind in the trees greeting the day. A couple of miles away is charming Weston, with the famous Vermont Country Store and the Weston Playhouse anchoring the town. The abundance of antiquing, skiing, summer fun, and all that Vermont has to offer is just minutes away in every direction from Susan's house, although I tend to just leave the world behind and enjoy the peace, quiet, and comfort that her house provides. You will not find a more wonderful hostess or a more perfect getaway than Susan and her home in Andover.
