Good location- the other reviews are fairly accurate in their descriptions of the poor wifi, bedding and bathroom.

Great location, exactly as described. Lots of stairs. I had no issues with wifi or cleanliness. Yes, the bathroom is very small. If you're looking for a place to crash this is perfect. You need a more comfortable experience to hang out in the room longer maybe not so much. Overall, enjoyed my stay.

The location of Simone's place was fantastic! A really pretty area with lots of great bars and restaurants around! We were able to walk to all of the main sights i.e Colosseum, Vatican City, Spanish Steps. We stayed for 4 nights spending the majority of our days and evenings out exploring the city so the flat was great for us.

This flat was a deep disappointment. It was not clean, and looked nothing like the pictures. The wall above the bed has dark splatters, the pictures above a thick layer of dust. The bedding and towels were tatty - not even a proper duvet was provided - to the point where we had to go out and buy completely new bedding and towels on our very first day in Rome. Still, we woke up every morning with a host of bites from the mattress, so clearly there were bed bugs. The kitchen had weeks of residue and dirt and also mice. This meant that we didn't feel we could cook there, and also that the noise from the mice gnawing kept us up at night - despite using earplugs! The low point of the flat, however, was the bathroom. There is no vent or outside window, which means that it smells like warm, musty toilet. This smell pervaded the flat. We tried getting rid of it by keeping the window permanently open and buying a series of scented candles. If you stayed here in winter, I'm not sure that would be an option. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience that left us feeling properly ripped off.

Simone was extremely helpful and prompt in responses! His place was nice and cozy and located in Trastevere where there are loads of bars & restaurants nearby to visit after sunset. Although located in an area with loads of nightlife, it's quiet and peaceful at night so you don't need to worry about noise. Would highly recommend staying at his place!

The apartment is situated in the most lively area of Rome, in the heart of Trastevere. It is quite fine for a couple who is not just looking for some sightseeing but also wants to experience the vibes of the city in the evening. At the beginning it gave us a feeling that we were in a shared apartment when entering the main door but then we understood that all the flats were isolated from each other and there is jut a common area in the middle. Simone was very helpful before and during our stay and was always in touch when we needed support. I recommend this apartment to everybody.

The best part about Simone's place is the neighborhood - Trastevere. It's a trendy part of town where Rome residents come for a night out, still a little touristy but not as bad as elsewhere in the city. We walked everywhere from here in 30 minutes or less. Simone met us at the apartment to give us the keys and we saw him again on our way out. He's extremely friendly and an attentive host. The apartment itself is comfortable with a nice, well equipped kitchen. The bathroom, especially the shower, was a little small but it serves its purpose. The one thing is the apartment is a cell reception dead zone and since the wifi provided is a mobile hotspot, the internet connectivity in the room was frustrating.
