About this listing

The King Kam Suite has a King bed, double sink bathroom and a large walk in closet. It also has a full kitchen in a screened in Lanai with access to the backyard, propane grill, lounge, and table and chairs.

The space

Lanai Villas is a well established Poipu Vacation rental just one block from the property of the Grand Hyatt Hotel and ocean beaches and is well known as an Affordable Alternative to Expensive Accommodations in beautiful Poipu Beach, but don't expect granite counter tops or high end furniture.

We have three suites, all private and here on this Airbnb site we are featuring our KING KAM SUITE. The master has a king size bed with a double sink bathroom and a large walk-in closet.

The King has a full kitchen along with a blender, microwave, toaster, toaster over, coffee maker, large fridge, and plenty of cookware, dishes and silverware. The table has a round marble top with chairs and it is all housed in a screened in Lanai, Hawaiian style.

There is a screen door leading out to the backyard which has a propane grill, an umbrella table with chairs and lounges.

Located in sunny Poipu within the Poipu Kai Resort Complex, our guests have full use of the resort Pool and Jacuzzi pictured which is just a 5 minute walk through a tree lined greenbelt area or a one minute drive to the tennis court area beside and behind the Kalapaki Joe restaurant.

This convenient resort area is within easy walking distance to beaches, tennis courts, championship golf courses, two shopping villages, and many first class restaurants, all within one mile.or less.

We recommend renting a car, but the inexpensive Kauai Bus makes a stop just one block from Lanai Villas.

Poipu Beach is on the South side of Kauai and is known for it's sunny weather. The area offers many interesting places to explore as well as some of the finest beaches in the world. Poipu Beach Park is only a one minute drive from Lanai Villas and offers plenty of free parking.

Located on a quiet street surrounded by high end homes, Lanai Villas offers the discerning traveler a great value for such a premier location in Hawaii.

Guest access

Here you can enjoy easy access to ocean beaches, sunsets on the ocean, restaurants and the Hyatt Spa. There is a daily charge for use of the spa.

This place is really great. The location puts you near the ocean. The full kitchen really allows you to save money and the suite has real nice home-like feel. Cameron is very helpful when it comes to recommendation. We have stayed here twice now and are already looking forward to our next vacation here.

Perfect place at the right price. Walking distance to the beach, the Grand Hyatt, and a shopping plaza with great breakfast spots. Cam has everything you need for the beach available for use.

Cameron's King Kam suite was perfect! Huge bed, kitchen with all of the amenities, and a nice bathroom. The hot tub and pool were really nice too! Cam's place is close to a few major resorts and beaches. Cam let us use his snorkel and beach equipment and even left us a box of chocolates! All around a really great stay, would definitely recommend!

The King Kam suite was just perfect for me and my wife. It is in an awesome location, and we just loved the set-up of the place with the sunken lanai kitchen area that backs onto the back yard. The place was perfect for us to do lots of cooking our own meals, and having the BBQ out back worked out great. I just wish we could of stayed longer than the week we were there.

This was the WORST rental unit I've stayed at during my 7 years as an Airbnb guest. The photos and description are deceiving and make the space seem nicer than it is. We called Airbnb to complain and cancelled the remainder of our reservation, which I've never had to do before. Our kitchen was a screened porch area, which was open to the elements and secured only by a tiny deadbolt. The appliances (fridge, stove/oven, toaster) were old and in disrepair. The shower was a dingy and stained reddish brown. There were bugs and dirt in the light fixtures and bathroom windows/ledges. On the last day we were there, the clothes dryer was broken and there was a sewage back-up in the room next door, which flooded their floor and required work in the yard outside our door (the owner reported to my husband that this happens once or twice a year!). The bed was saggy, and the furniture was cheap and outdated. It seemed like everything was purchased from a thrift shop, which would be ok except that the nightly rate is so expensive. In my travels, I have stayed in some homely, worn-out, dated rentals. But these were inexpensive backpacker hostels in other countries, and they weren't charging over $100 per night. Even though it is in a great location on a beautiful island, this space would need some MAJOR updates in order to earn a 5-star review from me!

Response from Cameron:
Wow.... at the risk of sounding defensive, Meg's review demands a response! First of all, we pride ourselves in cleanliness and ambiance. The renters that left the day Meg and Josh checked in were there for a month and rebooked for 5 weeks a few days before they left. The gentleman who checked in after they left is a returner from last year and is staying 3 weeks. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I have been hosting guests for 11 years and this is the worst review I have ever seen. I have to wonder what their motive is... many of the people who stay here are wedding parties from the Grand Hyatt just one city block away whose friends are paying upwards of $700 a night. Poipu is one of two high end areas on Kauai, the other is Princeville. There is a hotel a couple blocks from here where the least expensive room is $1,200 and the Sheraton further down within half a mile is from $350 to $650. We have some of the most affordable rentals in Poipu. To be more specific, I own an ocean front condo near the Sheraton also handled by Airbnb it rents for $425 per night. Much of the furniture in our King Kam suite where Meg stayed has found its way into that suite. The "screened in porch" she referred to is a screened in Lanai kitchen area very Hawaiian style that guests normally love. It looks out on to a beautiful tropical garden area kept that way by professional gardeners and has an umbrella table with four chairs, lounge chairs and a propane grill. True the screen door to the backyard is very basic and no screen door can be locked securely! There are ceiling to floor bamboo shades that can be lowered if a guest doesn't want to view the tropical plants and trees from the kitchen. However, there is a full screen door and sliding glass door that can be locked securely between the lanai and the bedroom and bathroom areas. True the full stove is not new, but it came from my own apartment upstairs and works great. The full size fridge is the same I see in many high end condos... they work perfectly and at the Grand Hyatt you don't even get a microwave while here there is also a toaster (new this year by the way) and toaster oven, blender, and microwave with plenty of pots and pans, dishes and silverware. The marble-stone like table by the way was high end not that long ago and the chairs I brought over from my oceanfront condo. The shower is a reddish colored fiberglass, so there is a reason for the color! We did have a disaster the day Meg and Josh left. Here on tropical Kauai, roots occasionally grow into the lines and back up the sewer. Actually this was the first time in a very long time (I have been here 8 years) and it happened on their third day here. Their room was affected the least, but as the maintenance people cleared the lines, we were all busy re-cleaning bathrooms. In just a few hours everything was back to normal. We were full at the time and the other couples in the suites were gracious and like normal tourists were out and about. I texted Meg when it was clear and asked if they were fine and was there anything else they needed. I was assured all was well. No one left because of our backup but Meg and Josh... in fact the other guests gave me negative feedback about their unfriendliness. We happened to be changing out the dryer that same day so the old one was taken away and a new high end SAMSUNG put in its place...we had no dryer for just a few hours.... timing!! When we cleaned their bathroom (which was not affected by the backup) I found the Jaclyn Smith bath rugs thrown under a chair in the walk in closet... and one of our Macy's bath towels on the floor in front of the sinks... washed them and replaced everything. Hours later when they left without a word, I found the bath rugs back in the closet under the same chair and a bath towel on the floor being used as a rug once again... We really do enjoy our guests and have many returners. When Meg arrived, the large new flat screen TV was playing Hawaiian music. On the Hawaiian print quilt she found rolled up beach towels with a box of Macadamia chocolates (we gave each guest an extra box by the way for any inconvenience... she took both) and the keys on the bed. The lamps were lit on both sides of the bed. The room freshly spayed for any kind of tropical insects earlier that day and cleaned by a professional cleaning service. They stayed three nights without a complaint of any kind to me and left the day of the backup issue with another three to go. I have traveled the world and stayed in 5 star hotels in most countries. As a high altitude mountaineer (in my earlier years) I have also stayed in my share of hostels and Sherpa bunk houses and Aribnb rentals worldwide. We are not the 5 star Hyatt, but I can assure you, along with most of our guests, our Suites are clean, practical and comfortable and very affordable for the high rent district. I live here full time as well and look forward to welcoming you to any one of our three Airbnb suites here at Lanai Villas. Cam
