Interaction with Guests
We will greet you upon your arrival to give you the key and show you around the unit. We do respect your privacy, but we are usually on the premises and available for questions, should you have any, about our beautiful area. And although you are welcome to spend one night with us, there is so much to explore in Santa Cruz, that you really need at least two nights….or more!
Our neighborhood is perfect for strolling and biking to both casual and fine dining at local restaurants, shopping and just plain fun!!
There are two taxi services in Santa Cruz as well as Uber. During the summer there is a trolley service that runs from the Boardwalk to downtown and back every 20-30 minutes. The cost is 25 cents each way.
Other Things to Note
In addition to beautiful beaches, Santa Cruz is home to majestic Redwoods located in the Henry Cowell State Park and Nisene Marks State Park. Hiking and Bike trails can be found in close-by Wilder Ranch.
As much as we love pets (we have an English Bulldog), we cannot accept pets in the studio as we often host guests who are highly allergic. We do not allow smoking (of anything) in the studio or on the premises. If you do decide to stay with us, please let us know what time you will be arriving so we can make sure to be here to greet you.
Never have I felt so at home in someone else's home! Dan and Colleen's private studio apt is the perfect place to stay at while visiting Santa Cruz and the surrounding area. They're just a short walk to the beach, boardwalk, and all the great downtown shops and restaurants. The apt had everything we could have wanted, and more! Movies, music, shelves of great books, snacks, breakfast in the fridge, coffee for the morning, extra pillows, blankets, great smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion... I could go on and on about how accommodating Dan and Colleen were... if/when my husband and I come back to Santa Cruz, we're booking their studio ASAP.
Very welcoming and cool set-up. Quiet and they gave us snacks, even beer! I read a book on Japanese pictures from (phone number hidden) that was very cool and informative. Short walk to the beach and boardwalk and downtown. Lovely garden with some bamboo that is like, purple.. Nice people and place and recommendations.
Family Clark made us feel welcome in their beautiful home in Santa Cruz. Colleen was there, when we came, we got a tour through the apartment, in which we were staying plus an extensive list of recommendations for restaurants, walks around the area, running tracks and things to do in Santa Cruz. The fridge was stocked with some breakfast and drinks, the bathroom with soap and body lotion, which was quite unexpected. The whole place was beautifully decorated (with a lot of details, everything picked with love) and very clean. The internet had superspeed.
The house is just 10 min by foot from the boardwalk and 5 min from one of the surfer beaches. The backyard is beautiful and the whole area looked safe and nice. Communication went super smooth, Colleen was very friendly and even remembered all the conversation details we had previous to our stay.
I wish I stayed longer at their place!
The apartment was beautiful. It had everything we could have needed, including a complimentary breakfast and assorted beverages. Colleen was very nice and so was her dog Molly! Great location with a quick walk to the beach, wharf, and downtown restaurants.
Collen and Dann were great host. They had lots of advice and refreshments. We got the privacy we desired but they were just a phone call away. I appreciate the space and hospitality.
What a sweet place. My daughter, age 10, didn't want to leave. We loved it. A safe, quite area but so close to the beach. Dann and Colleen were there to greet us and give us the tour, but really had everything so figured out we could have managed on our own. So many thoughtful touches--gave me great ideas for my own airbnb. It was simply ideal for our needs.
We had a great weekend in Santa Cruz! Dann and Colleen were always very quick in responding to our questions. When we arrived, they both greeted us and showed us around their basement apartment. It was clean and had everything we needed, including complimentary snacks and drinks! They were available in case we needed something, but gave us our privacy. The bed was super comfortable! While we didn't end up having time to enjoy the garden area, it was beautiful. Next time! The neighborhood was quiet and easy to find parking. It's located close enough to both the beach and downtown to either walk, drive or take the 25 cent shuttle. We would definitely try to book their place next time we stay in Santa Cruz!
