We are just a few blocks from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Santa Cruz Wharf and beautiful beaches. We are right down the hill from the beautiful UCSC campus and close to the Metro bus line.
You will have a separate entrance to our downstairs studio apartment from the backyard garden. There is a fully equipped private kitchen and a private patio dining area to use during nice weather.
We provide coffee, tea, a variety of cold beverages, fruit, yogurt and a variety of breakfast items upon arrival. The studio is a perfect size for two adults, but no more than three. We have an air-bed if you need it. However, please note that we do charge $25 per night for an extra adult guest.
Interaction with Guests
We will greet you upon your arrival to give you the key and show you around the unit. We do respect your privacy, but we are usually on the premises and available for questions, should you have any, about our beautiful area. And although you are welcome to spend one night with us, there is so much to explore in Santa Cruz, that you really need at least two nights….or more!
Our neighborhood is perfect for strolling and biking to both casual and fine dining at local restaurants, shopping and just plain fun!!
Other Things to Note
In addition to beautiful beaches, Santa Cruz is home to majestic Redwoods located in the Henry Cowell State Park and Nisene Marks State Park. Hiking and Bike trails can be found in close-by Wilder Ranch.
As much as we love pets (we have an English Bulldog), we cannot accept pets in the studio as we often host guests who are highly allergic. We do not allow smoking (of anything) in the studio or on the premises. If you do decide to stay with us, please let us know what time you will be arriving so we can make sure to be here to greet you.
We were very happy with the place and location. We plan on going back. We had the best time.
Colleen and Dann were great hosts! Colleen was very accommodating when I told her that I would arrive earlier than expected. After being greeted with a bright smile, Colleen showed us the (very charming) studio apartment. It was very clean, and welcoming. They had snacks, beer and other things to make us feel right at home. A list of activities and restaurants were waiting for us with a map various attractions. I will definitely stay with Colleen and Dann again! Thanks, guys!
We loved the artsy vibe on this place! Everything was spotless. Comfortable place with lots of personal touches. We would stay here again. Thank you so much for the stay.
Wonderful location close to the water and plenty of activities. We only stayed one night but it was a great stay and if we are in Santa Cruz again we will be back here. Dann and Colleen were very helpful and are nice as anyone you will meet.
The listing for Dann and Colleen's place was totally accurate-- it's exactly as they say and how it looks in the photos. Dann and Colleen were super warm, friendly, and helpful. They were available if we needed anything, and we felt welcome from the minute we arrived. I brought my two kids, and Colleen was very thoughtful to consider this when getting things ready for us (such as pointing out restaurants that are good for kids). We had an excellent experience.
The studio is charming and comfortable. I loved having access to a full kitchen. The house is in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood, and as advertised, close to the beach. Colleen and Dann are friendly, caring people and were very welcoming.
Dann and Colleen (and their dog Molly) were excellent hosts during our stay. Not only did they provide breakfast/drinks upon arrival, we also got a chance to use their bikes and their massive CD collection. The location couldn't be beat either - we were able to walk to the Boardwalk in 20 minutes flat!
We had a great time, and will definitely return.
We are retired business professionals and we love to travel and meet new people. We enjoy brewing beer, drinking wine, cooking, gardening, riding our bikes, and having friends over for dinner.
