My girlfriend and I arrived in San Jose, having never been in Costa Rica before, with an extremely limited grasp of the Spanish language, and Nelson immediately made us feel welcome. His warm demeanor made it clear that we could come to him with any questions, and made us very comfortable in our new surroundings. As for the facilities, our room was relatively small, yet comfortable. Very clean. We had a desk, bed, bathroom, and mini fridge. It wasn't super-spacious, but I'm not sure why you would spend all day in your hotel room in such a beautiful country anyway. There is a nice open-air courtyard outside the rooms full of plant life, wild birds, a bar, a few pet parrots, and a rescued capuchin monkey named Don Kiko! A nice place to hang out and relax. We never paid for a large breakfast because the complimentary fruit, fresh bread, juice, and coffee was more than enough. We had dinner one night at the B&B, chicken, fish, rice, and beans, which seems to be a pretty standard Costa Rican meal. It was very good, and the price was good. All the food is homemade and prepared fresh. Three quick pieces of advice. 1. The location is nice, and almost suburban. This means you're away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, this means that a lot of tour shuttles won't pick you up from Casa Lima directly. You can either drive your rental car to the nearby Hilton (about 8 minutes away), or take a taxi to solve this issue. 2. The Wi-Fi was not accessible from our room on the second floor. There were supposed to be five different networks availble, but for some reason three of them were down for almost our whole trip. HOWEVER, we never mentioned this to Nelson or any of the staff, so I won't take any points off. Wi-Fi worked fine in the courtyard and dining area anyway. 3. Wear ear plugs to bed. A parrot woke us up two out of three nights early in the morning. Overall a great experience that I would recommend to anyone starting their Costa Rican journey in San Jose! We will definitely be staying here again next time we find ourselves in this wonderful country.

"Un pequeño paraiso" is what we often hear from our guests... "A small-paradise." Casa Lima Apartments is nestled in one of Costa Rica's unique and privileged neighborhoods, Rohrmoser.

Located only 20 minutes from the airport (Juan Santamaria International Airport), 10 minutes from downtown San Jose, and three blocks from the American Embassy, Casa Lima offers the perfect strategic location when visiting the Central Valley and exploring Costa Rica. Casa Lima is just a short drive away from all the amenities of San Jose and Escazu, and is your ideal place for a tranquil and relaxing tropical vacation or business travel.
