Brand new, fully renovated small apartment in great (and up and coming) location. This is a great deal in a hip part of New Orleans, with all the amenities you would want. Central air, cable, and wi-fi. Oh, and you have 2 bikes, secure shed to store them, and a great porch to hang out on. How n'awlins is that???

There is a bus stop (88) that is right in front of the house and will take you to the French Quarter in 5 min! It runs every 20 min...check out the new RTA real time route app--it's free.

  • Had a great stay! Everything was clean and the space is much larger than the photos show. Its about a ten to fifteen min walk to Frenchman street, which was great. Also a ten dollar cab ride to Bourbon, or totally walkable during the day. Quiet area, friendly people, great experience! Thank you!

  • We had a lovely 5-night stay in this duplex. Monica was incredibly responsive, and the place was just as advertised. Plenty of room for the two of us, and the futon sofa would accommodate two more if needed. While the duplex is located on a busy street, it is a short 10-minute walk to a very cool little area with a couple of wonderful restaurants (Try Booty's for brunch - fabulous!) and only about 15 minutes from Frenchmen Street, with great live music and restaurants. There's also a coffee shop just down the street. The bikes were a huge plus - we biked all over the city. This was a great find, especially for the price. The only downside was noise from both the railroad tracks (very close by) and the street at night. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Monica!

  • We had a lovely stay in Monica's apartment during Mardi Gras 2014. The apartment was very cute and clean upon arrival, and she had even left several recommendations for things to do and restaurants on a bulletin board in the kitchen. Very thoughtful! The location is perfect, only 15 minutes walking to the French Quarter, and in the very hip Bywater/Marigny neighborhood. Lots of cute restaurants/shops and friendly neighbors.

It was really wonderful to be able to use the bikes, but be careful as the roads are very bumpy and have many potholes, and as a result the chain kept falling off one of the bikes. I would recommend staying on a road with a smooth bike lane like St. Claude if you choose to joyride around.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

  • Monica's space was exactly as described on her profile. It was cute and tidy! She was a wonderful host and very accommodating. If we needed anything, she made herself available to us. The neighbors were nice and welcoming as well. This space is in a convenient location and I would definitely recommend this host! Thank you Monica!

  • Monica and her cute dog were great hosts for us while we were in New Orleans as part of a year long road trip. The house location, though right on the edge of a not so great neighborhood, was close enough to better neighborhoods like Bywater and the French Quarter. The bikes were the perfect addition for us, and we explored most of the city by day on them.

We had an issue when we arrived that Monica was helpful in resolving and it was mostly satisfactorily addressed by our second day. Do be aware that the place is right on the train tracks and the train goes by at all hours and is quite loud, so if you are a light sleeper, that could be problematic. But the big comfy bed should be a nice consolation!

  • This cute little one-bedroom was perfect for our Valentine's Day adventure in NOLA. Monica was a great communicator, and even got us another key when I (stupidly) locked ours inside the apartment. Everything was clean and lovely. The bathroom was totally fine for my boyfriend and I, but keep in mind that it could be a bit cramped if you are with a gaggle of girls who like to get ready together! We enjoyed the adorable wine shop down the street and our 20 minute strolls to the FQ. Thanks, Monica!

  • We had a great stay at this little apartment! Super clean, everything worked perfectly, we really felt at home.
We were in New Orleans when it got really really cold in January and unfortunately the insulation in the apartment is not the best, but Monica was available and very helpful and she provided us with extra blankets really quickly.
The neighbourhood is really great too: 20 minutes' walk to the french quarter, plus the bywater area is really great: pretty, lots of cool restaurants, cafés and bars. Make sure to go eat at Booty's or Satsuma's, both on Louisa St. Great food, great atmosphere, loved it!
All in all, nothing to complain about!

  • Excellent, well-kept, low key, yet centrally located place to stay. The bikes are a plus also. I will be in touch with Monica for our future stays in Nola. An excellent value for sure. Thank you....for a real good time!!

  • Prompt communication + clear directions to keys + helpful maps/recommendations for local things to do + location = great experience. Well kept and low key for those who want a place that is all around easy. Extra points for the bicycles!

I am an acupuncturist and contemporary dancer who has relocated to New Orleans from Seattle. After about a decade in the Pacific NW, I realized it was time to return to my southern roots. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that I have returned to this warm climate full of such friendly people.
