The Neighborhood

Flat is in Shoreditch, zone 1, Central London. It is between East London and City of London so it has the best of both worlds. City of London is where London started so it’s the oldest part of London, the original London. Nowadays also quite formal and business like. The East End is the complete opposite, a young, very vibrant and interesting area, full of galleries, street markets, pubs, restaurant and clubs. You will not be bored!

The flat is in a quiet street so you can sleep peacefully but all the fun is a few seconds away once you feel up for it. There are also food stores, a 24 hour shop and fast food places just around the corner.

Shoreditch and East London is also famous for thousands of new start-ups in the last five years. Old street roundabout is now "Tech City" and people refer to it also as "Silicon Roundabout".

2 minutes to Hoxton street market
Food stalls, browsing, knick a brack, pubs, restaurants, Hoxton street Monster Supplies …

3 minutes to Shoreditch Park
Jogging, perhaps? Also has a great gym. Hosts music and other festivals in summer.

5 minutes to Regent’s Canal
You can have a lovely walk along the canal, grab a coffee, go to hipster Broadway market (25 minutes walk) or if you really like walking all the way to Camden Market along the canal (about an hour).

5 minutes to Hoxton square
Centre of nightlife in the area. Go to Hoxton Square bar and kitchen to see a great gig or to Zigfrid von Underbelly.

5 minutes to Breakfast Club
Best breakfast in town. Try The Full Monty (elsewhere called the English Breakfast). Prepare to queue. It's very popular!! To avoid queues go in the evening, they have happy hour and do an amazing mojito :-)

8 minutes to Shoreditch Grind
Delicious coffee and popular with location independent entrepreneurs.

9 minutes to Geffrye museum
devoted to the history of the home, showing how homes and gardens reflect changes in society, behaviour, style and taste over the past 400 years.

9 minutes to XOYO club
The most popular club at the moment. There is also Mother, Plastic People, Cargo and so many others within walking distance.

13 minutes to Google Campus
Co-working space in the heart of East London’s Tech City that’s powered by Google to offer start-ups the tools they need to succeed. Seven floors of flexible work space, free high-speed internet and support to fuel your ideas, from mentoring programmes to networking events and much more.

15 minutes to Columbia Flower market
On Sunday the street is transformed into oasis of foliage and flowers. Everything from bedding plants to 10 foot banana trees are up for grabs. Street is one of the few streets in the country composed of sixty independent shops so it's great to visit even if it's not a Sunday. Small art galleries sit next to cup cake shops, vintage clothes stores, English and Italian delis, garden and antique shops. There is also a wealth of great pubs, cafes and restaurants.

18 mins to Spitalfields market
London's oldest market. Best on a Sunday when the main market is open but there are other markets on other days. Spitafields market is surrounded by independent shops that offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks and food. It's full of cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants. Just across the street you will also find Poppies Fish and Chips, chosen as the best place to serve Fish and Chips by Time Out. You can't leave London without trying fish and chips.

20 minutes to Brick Lane
Needs no introduction probably. Long street once famous for Indian food and nowadays for great vintage shops, bars and amazing Sunday market. Don't forget to get a bagel at the renown 24 hour Brick Lane Beigel Bake, a piece of London history.

20 minutes to Barbican centre
The Barbican Centre is a performing arts centre in the City of London and is the largest of its type in Europe. The Centre hosts classical and contemporary music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings and art exhibitions. The architecture of the building is amazing.
